Since I got married and became a housewife - I've gotten pretty good at cooking certain things. I always dreamed of baking lasagna - but my husband hates cheese. Nevertheless, I now make a super good Calzone - and get requests for those from guests. I cook because I have to but I like it, too. Some day I wouldn't mind opening a lunch/brunch cafe and serving the best calzones, and diner type food done in vegetarian style :)
My favorite things to cook
Use to love baking cinnamon rolls and cookies and cupcakes. But now I'm starting to tire of that - amazing I know... and now I like fresh food with fresh ingredients - like Salads and Sandwiches and just anything with fresh ingredients... (maybe it's b/c I'm pregant :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Calzones, anyways you like it - I have my own little set up like you'd see at Subway and I got all the ingredient toppings out and I make it just the way you like it :)
My cooking triumphs
I've finally gotten to the point where I can stroll in the front door - look through the fridge/pantry and throw together an amazing meal in 30 minutes or less and hubby is amazed every time :)
My cooking tragedies
angel food cake - once added too much water... another time baking something else - it said to add "soda" and at the time - i was very young, so i didn't know that "soda" meant "baking soda" - so what i did was open a can of pop and pour 1 tsp of 7up into the mix... pretty funny looking back at that minor error :-) ha ha
