Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Wonderful and easy recipe. I was able to throw this together on Christmas morning in about 10 minutes. I will drizzle this with a powdered sugar glaze next time per my husbands request but it is great as is and was gone in no time.

The Best Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
These lemon squares were just what I was hoping for. I added 1 full cup of lemon juice because I like them extra tart and 1/4 tsp salt to the crust as another reviewer suggested. I have tried a couple of other lemon square recipes and this one will be the only one I use from now on.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew III

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
This stew was superb! So easy and the flavors came together just right to make one of the best stew recipes I have ever made. I added beef broth in place of the water to add additional flavor. I did not start cooking until the morning of, but the meat was still tender. Next time I will cook overnight as directed because the meat would have probably been even more tender. I will definitely make this again and again.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2014
I make this with canned sweet potatoes and It turns out great. I took the advice of another reviewer: "One large can (40 oz I think) is just over 4 cups (I use the whole can), but the trick is to boil them in the syrup for awhile to get them kinda mushy, then drain and mash them in a bowl…" This is good advice and I get rave reviews on this recipe. I use heavy cream instead of milk and I half the sugar as they can be pretty sweet if using canned. I don't always make the topping and they are still fantastic. This recipe is easy and so, so good :)

Creamy Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
I made this soup tonight and it is excellent! I doubled the recipe based on another review and it was just enough for our family of four. I had to add a little more flour mixed with a bit of water just to thicken it up a little bit but that may have been because I double the recipe, otherwise, I followed this recipe exactly and it is superb.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
My mom used to make this for us when I was a kid and I am so happy to have finally found the recipe. I made the meatballs with ground turkey rather then beef and so I added about 3/4 c of bread crumbs to firm up the meat consistency. Also, I didnt have time to do the crock pot thing so I browned the meatballs in the skillet, then added the sauce and let it simmer for about 30-45 min. and it still turned out soooo yummy. Thank you so much for bringing this recipe back to me!

Feta Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
I made this recipe for dinner tonight and it was excellent. Easy, quick and yummy meet all the requirements in my kitchen. I did not have chopped garlic so I substituted 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder and I left the bacon out but it was still fantastic. Definitely a keeper.

Sugar Coated Pecans

These are fantastic! I doubled the recipe and so added 1 more egg and a couple dashes of vanilla. My husband took half the batch to work and everyone raved over these. Many have asked for the recipe.

One Pot Pinto Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2013
Tried these today. Best pinto bean recipe so far and the family loved them too! I followed the recipe exactly, used 2 teaspoons of salt and added a 1/2 cup of water toward the end of cooking to keep them from drying out but I think they would have been fine without the added water. Excellent recipe!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
This is the best salad I have ever made, it reminds me very much of the *warm tomato and spinach salad* that we love at Bucca di Beppo's (our favorite Italian Restaurant) I made this according to the recipe with no changes. It is worth every star and then some.

Best Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
I like to make a recipe the first time through with no changes to give it a fair shot. This recipe is just perfect as is and does not need any changes. Making this at Thanksgiving is so convenient because it is quick and easy to prepare and it cooks at the same time and temp as the *Sweet Potato casserole II* recipe found on this website which helps tame the cooking chaos. I heard nothing but MMMM's over this one.

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2006
My family loves this recipe! It was the quietest dinner time ever, the only sounds heard were mmmm, and these are sooo good. My son wishes we could have these every night and he can be picky. I par boiled the ribs for 30 minutes and marinated overnight. Be sure to baste a couple of times during cooking as the sauce is unbelievable and really makes this recipe.

Herbed Twice-Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Wow! Fantastic recipe. The only thing I would do differently is scrape potatoes to 1/4 inch of the skin as another reviewer suggested. This will keep the skins from tearing as easily.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
I have been making this potato soup recipe for years and it is Fantastic! I never peel the potatoes, I just chop them and throw them in with the peels on. (My excuse is that the vitamins are in the peels but really, I am just to lazy to peel them!). If you don't have ham the soup will still taste great without it and I love the fact that this recipe does not call for heavy cream since heavy cream can be expensive. This is an excellent recipe and deserves every star. Thank you ELLIE11 for sharing this easy and affordable soup recipe.

Vegetable Medley I

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
This was wonderful! I made this according to the recipe but I used a 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes instead of 16 oz and I did not have the watery problem some have experienced. I served this with Rice-a-roni on the side but it would have gone well over pasta since it makes enough sauce without being watery. Both of my children cleaned their plates and had seconds. My husband prefers to have some kind of meat for dinner, and even he said he could eat 10 plates of that. I will be making this again and again. Thank you for a healthy and satisfying recipe.

This recipe was the best potato chowder i've made so far. I did not have country style gravy so I used brown gravy instead and it was still very good. I will definitely make this again.

Taco Bake

This was so easy and my kids really liked it. I needed something I could throw together with things I had on hand and I am so glad I tried this one. I left out the chilies and it was still excellent.
