Aunt Hazel's Apple Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Delicious. A new family favorite. I had no walnuts on hand so I used finely crushed peanuts and the flavor made me think of a carmel apple covered in peanuts. Also, instead of cinnamon, I used a cinnamon blend from The Pampered Chef and added some of that in the icing. Very good!!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
so good. I was short on time and had pre-cooked chicken in the freezer. I threw everything in a pot, brought it to a boil, then let it simmer 20 minutes or so...delicious.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Delicious. My 18 month old who rarely eats meat devoured these!! To me this is at least as good as Manwich and more practical because I always have these ingredients on hand!

Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
Absolutely wonderful. Better than the other Morning Glory recipe from this site that I tried. The only change I made was adding a topping from another recipe: 2 TBS finely crushed walnuts plus 2 TBS wheat germ; all it added was appearence. These were SO GOOD!!

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
delicious. I took the advice of some other reviwers and reduced the roux for a soup that wasn't as thick. I will likely use the same technique for a creamy veggie soup too--omit the bacon and add a bunch of veggies--mmmm!

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Yummy! When I got to the fridge, I found my pork chops had gone bad. So, I used chicken breast and it was awesome! Served over rice with a veggie--better than Chinese take out and easier too!

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
I love peanut butter and this recipe is delicious. I had some left and will probably end up eating it out of the fridge all week!! It was a thicker frosting and I think it might be tough to spread on cake, but for my brownies it worked great. I ommitted the salt.

Martha's Hot Almond Spread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Delicious. I halved the recipe and baked it in a small oven-safe bowl. As a group of four, we knocked it out pretty fast. I served it with french bread slices toasted in the oven. I will use this one again!!

Shredded Beef for Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Easy and excellent. I used beer in place of the wine since I usually have beer on hand and don't usually have wine. I also added a can of green chiles by mistake and forgot to add the onions. It was very good that way. Thanks for sharing!!

Very good. A hit at every party I take it to. It's nice to bring something to a party that isn't a dessert since they're so popular to bring. This dish is also special.

Banana Trifle

Delicious! I forgot to buy vanilla wafers so I built the dessert without them. I powdered the top with a little nutmeg. It was SO good. I'll be keeping these ingredients on hand in case I need to throw together a quick and easy dessert!

Pecan Praline Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2005
My amazing aunt makes a cookie like this. She calls them "goochies" and uses Club crackers instead of the graham crackers. I like the contrast of the sweet and salty and no one ever guesses that they're plain old crackers! I also do not use the cream of tartar. We usually dust them with powdered sugar which really dresses them up.
