Not all that flavorful, but decent. I'd make it again in a pinch.

Banana Trifle

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Delicious! I forgot to buy vanilla wafers so I built the dessert without them. I powdered the top with a little nutmeg. It was SO good. I'll be keeping these ingredients on hand in case I need to throw together a quick and easy dessert!

Baked Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
delicious. I took the advice of some other reviwers and reduced the roux for a soup that wasn't as thick. I will likely use the same technique for a creamy veggie soup too--omit the bacon and add a bunch of veggies--mmmm!

Mediterranean Stuffed Chicken

Decent. Makes for an impressive presentation, but the taste wasn't all that impressive. It was moist but not very flavorful.

St. Joseph's Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
I don't normally care for anise, but I enoy it in this bread. In my home we make this bread for St. Joseph Day, March 19!

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Yummy! When I got to the fridge, I found my pork chops had gone bad. So, I used chicken breast and it was awesome! Served over rice with a veggie--better than Chinese take out and easier too!

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

not very good. I followed the recipe exactly except that I added in a touch of nutmeg and some oats to the topping. I won't make them again.

...and a half. These were wonderful but a little sweet for my tastes. Next time I'll try cutting the sugar a little. Very good muffins!

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
I love peanut butter and this recipe is delicious. I had some left and will probably end up eating it out of the fridge all week!! It was a thicker frosting and I think it might be tough to spread on cake, but for my brownies it worked great. I ommitted the salt.

Martha's Hot Almond Spread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Delicious. I halved the recipe and baked it in a small oven-safe bowl. As a group of four, we knocked it out pretty fast. I served it with french bread slices toasted in the oven. I will use this one again!!

Shredded Beef for Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Easy and excellent. I used beer in place of the wine since I usually have beer on hand and don't usually have wine. I also added a can of green chiles by mistake and forgot to add the onions. It was very good that way. Thanks for sharing!!

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Really, really good. I used Northern Spies, one Granny Smith and one Honeycrisp. I added the juice of one lemon and reduced the sugar by 1/4 c. The end result was tart but delicious. I will make this again, maybe even this week while I still have lots of apples on hand!

This recipe tastes very low fat. Even with the chilies there was not very much flavor at all.

Very good. A hit at every party I take it to. It's nice to bring something to a party that isn't a dessert since they're so popular to bring. This dish is also special.
