Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
This will be my family's blueberry muffin standard. Light and delicious. I substitute about half whole wheat flour. So good!

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
Excellent cookies and great for making with kids because there are just enough in the recipe that they don't get tired of making them!! I had instant vanilla pudding on hand so that's what I used. I also doubled the ginger to give it a little more quick and it was still palatable for little ones. This one will become a Christmas standard in my house!!

Aunt Hazel's Apple Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Delicious. A new family favorite. I had no walnuts on hand so I used finely crushed peanuts and the flavor made me think of a carmel apple covered in peanuts. Also, instead of cinnamon, I used a cinnamon blend from The Pampered Chef and added some of that in the icing. Very good!!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
Some said not to thin the batter with milk, but they were just too thick for my liking. Added just a bit more milk and was very happy with the result. A delicious, hardy fall breakfast!

Pretzel Fruit Pizza

a very crumbly crust. I've made a similar crust before with better results. maybe the butter to dry ingredients ratio is a little off...

The Extreme Cherry Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
Disappointing. The color was beautiful, but the cherry flavor was not very intense even though I added extra juice and cherries. It was also a bit dry...I may have overbaked it slightly. I used a white chocolate icing.

Cookie Balls

Good, but not exceptional. I probably won't do this again...but maybe if I have a lot of oreos on hand. There are just better things to do with an oreo...

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
so good. I was short on time and had pre-cooked chicken in the freezer. I threw everything in a pot, brought it to a boil, then let it simmer 20 minutes or so...delicious.

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
Not that good. I guess to me these don't really seem like a brownie...I'm a traditionalist when it comes to brownies, I guess.

Jo Jo's Favorite Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
These are really good. They are lighter and fluffier than a typical banana bread muffin but have really good banana flavor. I added a bit of nutmeg and cloves and it was good. I only had one small banana on hand so I halved the recipe and added unsweetened applesauce to round it out to 1/2 cup. This worked well.

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Delicious. My 18 month old who rarely eats meat devoured these!! To me this is at least as good as Manwich and more practical because I always have these ingredients on hand!

Yum! I baked in a bundt pan and served this as cake with chocolate whipped cream on the side--no one had a clue it even had zucchini in it!

I don't know if I used a bad brand of sausage, but these tasted so salty. I will not make them again.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
I took it to a party and did get one request for the recipe...but I didn't think it was that good. Too me it tasted like chocolate chips in cream cheese. I might make it again for something different at a party, but I'm in no hurry to do so!

Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
Absolutely wonderful. Better than the other Morning Glory recipe from this site that I tried. The only change I made was adding a topping from another recipe: 2 TBS finely crushed walnuts plus 2 TBS wheat germ; all it added was appearence. These were SO GOOD!!
