Cucumber Slices With Dill

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
My mother loves these, and the restaurant where she always ordered them closed down. So I made it my mission to find a recipe so I could duplicate them for her. This one came the closest. I made them for her, and she was so excited, so I make them a couple of times every summer for a summer cookout at my family's home. I also made them for a summer fish fry we had at work, and my co-workers just about inhaled them. Imagine my surprise when I realized the container was empty -- I hadn't had any myself! A lot of my co-workers asked for the recipe.

Chicago-Style Hot Dog

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I've always wanted to try a Chicago-style hot dog, but instead of boiling the hot dog, my husband wanted to grill them. Also, you can't find poppyseed buns at our hometown grocery store. But we followed the rest of the recipe, and they were terrific.

Sausage Brunch Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I made this for a Boss's Day potluck breakfast. It was a big hit with my co-workers, and I got a lot of compliments. Since I made such a big dish of it, there was some leftover. With a dozen people each making something different, I wasn't surprised. I carried it home and it made a nice supper for me and my husband. This is a can't miss dish for a brunch.

Ambrosia Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
This was one of the best fruit salads I have ever had. I made it for a potluck at my work and they loved it. When I made for a family Thanksgiving, I replaced the cherries with sliced strawberries, since my mother is allergic to the red dye used in maraschino cherries. It was just as good with the strawberries, and I used glazed walnuts to try something a little different.

Kraft's Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
I don't eat this myself, but I do enjoy making it. I make it every Thanksgiving for my dad, who loves seven-layer salad. My mom says she just can't seem to make it right. I'm very patient (she is not), so this is an easy dish for me. It takes patience to get the layers just right. I use a tall glass dish so you can see all the layers through the glass. Makes a colorful sight at the dinner table.

Greek Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
This is a super chicken salad recipe! I don't care for mayonnaise, so I normally don't eat chicken salad or tuna salad. i saw this recipe and decided to make it for a easy and quick supper one night. My husband loved it so much he asks for it every couple of weeks. We used pita bread instead of regular bread, and it's great!

Cheesy Catfish

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2007
I did not enjoy this dish. We followed the recipe to the letter except for the butter, because my husband and I are trying to eat more healthy, and we thought more fish, baked or grilled, would be the best way to go. the fish was soggy and didn't get crisp. My husband said he might take the leftovers and try pan-frying them.

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
This is pretty good. I tried it after my sister called me the day before Thanksgiving and asked me if I planned to make the spinach artichoke dip I'd mentioned. I didn't remember mentioning it, but I decided to find a recipe and give it a shot.

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
I made this dish for a Boss's Day brunch. Unfortunately, once it was in the fridge chilling, I became ill. I didn't make it to the brunch, but I had my husband carry the dish in to work for me. Upon my return to work, all my coworkers told me how my casserole was delicious and a lot of them wanted my recipe. Allrecipes.com had been one of the very best sites for cooking ever, and I've never been disappointed with any of the recipes I've tried from this site.
