Shipwreck Stew

This came out dry, I ended up having to add tomato juice and water to it to make it more like a stew. It also needed salt and pepper. My family also said that it had too many potatoes. I won't make it again.

Soft Sugar Cookies I

I wasted a lot of time and ingredients on these. I cut down on the milk so I didn't have to add extra flour, but these cookies had way too much baking soda and baking powder in them. They smelled and tasted like pancakes because of it. I also cut down on the salt to 1/2 tsp.

Streusel-Topped Muffins

I had to add more milk to the batter because it was so thick. The streusel topping has too much butter in it and ran off of the muffins when they baked. I also found the muffin unflavorful. Won't make again.

Chocolate Oil Cake

No one in my family of 4 cared for this cake. I followed one of the reviews to use 3/4 of oil and 2 tsp. of vanilla. It is so heavy and not much flavor. I prefer light and fluffy cakes. I will not be making this again.

Applesauce Bars

First of all, these bars need to go in an 8" X 8" pan. They were very thin. Secondly, they tasted greasy so I wouldn't grease the pan or cut down on the margarine in the recipe. Thirdly, they are extremely moist almost too moist for my liking. I will not make them again.

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

I made this exactly as the recipe stated minus 1/4 tsp. of the salt. All 3 members of my family didn't like it. They said there was way too much sour cream. I am a vegan so I didn't try any but decided to make it again using vegan sour cream and cheese. I didn't mind it but I did feel that it called for too much sour cream. If I make this again I will omit the sour cream and use almond milk to make a basic white sauce instead.

Samoan Panikeke

I made these exactly as the recipe stated except I made my balls of dough about an 1/8th of a cup like several others recommended. I rolled them in sugar and cinnamon and that was too sweet so I tried putting maple syrup on them, yuck. I am also not a banana fan and I thought the banana flavor was overpowering. If I make these again, I will use pureed pears or maybe even crushed pineapple and just sprinkle with powdered sugar. I also think I will try almond milk instead of water.
