Rainbow Rotini Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
This really is one of those meals you really shouldn't need a recipe for but I never would have thought to make had it not been for being on here. Thanks for a simple pasta salad recipe.

Mexican Strawberry Water (Agua de Fresa)

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
This was definitely a refreshing drink! I made this for the kids for a Mexican theme potluck. It was the first drink to go. Will definitely make again.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
I did not read the other reviews before I made this so I didn't realize it was a tangier frosting. My preference is more sweet on the cream cheese frosting so I ended up adding another cup of sugar. Was pretty good with red velvet cake!

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
This was good but not something I'd make and eat regularly. We eat pancakes/waffles/french toast about 3x a week and I can see eating this maybe a few times but not everytime. My daughters absolutely loved the syrup and asked for more pancakes for it so it will be made again.

Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
The recipe as stated was a tad too tangy and really heavy on the lemon in my opinion so I added a bit more garlic, some cayenne pepper and garlic infused olive oil. I would say this is a great base, but as is, wasn't my cup of tea.

Cookie Dough for Ice Cream (Eggless)

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
This is excellent! I've had this in my recipe box for years but just now got up the courage to make it. I took the suggestions of others and made this with 2 1/2 Tbl brown sugar, 3 Tbl white sugar, 2 Tbl softened butter, 1/4 tsp vanilla, 1 1/2 Tbl milk, 1/2 C. flour and added 1/4 tsp salt. I could have licked the bowl clean. I was only able to get 14 balls out of it which worried me until I remember one reviewer doubled and got 24 balls. I'm planning to put this in homemade vanilla ice cream. Can't wait!!!

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
These just came out of the oven and I just had to try them. These are very delicious and super quick to put together. I was a little nervous when making the dough because it was extremely crumbly but once I worked it around in my hands it became like most cookie doughs. This is definitely a keeper!

Pie Crust III

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
This is a great quick pie crust. Needed a crust in a pinch and was able to get this done in about 5 minutes. I took the suggestion of another reviewer and added 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp salt to the flour. I would recommend adding only 1/4 tsp salt as the crust was very salty. Also, this made about a crust and a half for me. Not the double it yeilds.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
This was sooo good. I halved the recipe because I only needed enough for 2 adults. I read some of the reviews and did some differences. First I bought a rotisserie chicken that I shred and sauted with garlic, onion and olive oil. Then I added 2 cans condensed soup as was suggested by a reviewer and a can of water. Then I added the can of tomatoes, beans and chilis, along with 1 tsp cumin, lime juice and a handful of cilantro and seasoned to taste with salt and pepper. It was delicious.

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
perfect! in hawaii we don't get sweet tea (the one thing i miss from mcdonalds) so i am glad i was able to find a great sweet tea recipe. And the best part is you can change it to suit your tastebuds. i like my tea really really sweet so i added about a 1/3 cup more of sugar. mmm!

California Roll Sushi

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
These were really good and very filling. I cut my recipe down to only make 2 servings since I would be the only one eating them. Did taste like too much mayo. I even added a bit more crab to mine bc I could see the mayo was overpowering. I've never rolled sushi before so my rolls were kinda thick but that didn't mess with the overall taste. I will make these again!

Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
My husband loved these but I wasn't too thrilled. Mine came out quite milky. Maybe should have let them drain better??

Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
This is a great "base" recipe. The reason I'm giving four stars is because I seasoned with what I like instead of using just the dry mustard so I can't give it five because I didn't make it "as is". I also used crumbled bacon instead of ham but I don't think that would have changed the outcome at all. Definitely the go to quiche recipe!!!!

Jif® Peanut Butter Blossoms

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
i've never had or made these before so i wasn't sure what to expect. first i'd like to say the dough came together really well and quickly but my cookies did not puff up like in the picture, rather they were spread out like any other cookie. next, i'm not entirely fond of the big amount of chocolate on top of the cookie. of course, that's just personal preference.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
At first this was a really great hot cocoa recipe. Then I got hit with an after taste. Not sure if that is normal but I followed the recipe to a T. Hmm.. I'll keep looking for a great hot cocoa recipe.

Easy Valentine Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
This dough is comparable to chocolate chip cookie dough when not baked. I repeatedly tried to roll the chilled dough out but it always got stuck, even with wax paper. What finally worked for me was chilling the dough, pulling out and rolling 1/4 in thick between two wax sheets, chilling the dough again for an additional 3-5 minutes and then finally cutting out and transferring to the cookie sheet. I was literally making cookies for 3 hours because I had to constantly chill the dough and could only make 6 cookies at a time (3 whole cookies). Now to rate the actual cookie itself. I'm only halfway fond of this cookie. I used jam in place of the frosting and maybe that's what the problem is, but I was trying to do a nut-free (type of) linzer cookie. Maybe my efforts failed.

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
these were really good. i didn't quite understand why everyone was talking about the thickness of their noodles.. and then i made mine and realized it wasn't how thick the noodle was but rather how wide. my poor noodles were double their original size when done boiling. but nonetheless my girls devoured them asking for more. will definitely be making these again and freezing them.
