Grilled Venison Backstrap

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This is a great recipe! I did make some minor changes. I didn't cut the meat into chunks but left it whole. I cooked it on the Foreman Grill on high. I sprayed with grill with Pam. I wrapped several pieces of bacon(didn't use all that bacon) around the whole steak and cooked it for @ 10 mins until the internal temp was 145*

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
I decided not to roll them in the sugar as my husband didn't like to crunch through the sugar. We didn't miss it and will make them this way from now on. Fantastic flavor...these cookies freeze well, if you are lucky to have extras laying around!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Skip the shortening and replace it with the same amount of light olive oil. You'll never taste the difference but your heart will appreciate the difference!!! Enjoy!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
This is the best snickerdoodle recipe...I did make two changes to the recipe. I didn't use the 1/2 cup shortening. Instead, I used 1/2 cup of light olive oil. I cooked the cookies at 350* for 8 minutes. This made a cookie with a chewy inside and a crisp outside. The cookies also freeze very well and when defrosted taste like they were just baked. Thanks for a great recipe!

Concord Grape Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2005
This is my first review after years of using this site...I had to write this review! This pie is fantastic! Our neighbor blessed us with his concord grapes and I've been making and freezing the fillings all week. My fingers are stained but my family still wants more! My husband has requested at least 15 fillings frozen for the winter. I've got 5 left to make...in between I'm making several fresh pies at a time. Don't be put off by having to separate the skins from the pulp..it's worth the effort. I don't add the butter, it doesn't need it. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe.
