Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
browned meat/bacon/onion in pan, added all ingredients to slow cooker. After tasting it I decided to add another 1/4 cup more of ketchup and bbq sauce. For you canadians, I used President Choice Beer & Chipotole bbq sauce, yummy. The whole family liked it. Next time I will also try using turkey bacon and ground turkey to really cut down on the fat content. Thanks, Michele, Cambridge, Ontario

Kim's Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2007
I used leftover turkey and half and half cream instead of the milk and water. Out of 5 people only two said it was good. We found it very plain, it was ok but I won't be making it again. Michele, cambridge ontario

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
This was good, different. 6 people ate this and 2 said it was ok and the rest liked it quite a bit. It was a little greasy though and I probably won't make it again. There are too many recipes to try.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
I had small 8" pie shells that i used. I decided they looked so small that I could make two pies out of one filling recipe. I am glad I did because there is no way it would have all fit in one pie shell. My pies didn't look like the picture, they looked like normal pecan pie with all the nuts on top. Very very good, everyone loved it. Thanks, Michele, Cambridge Ontario Canada

Romaine with Garlic Lemon Anchovy Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2007
This was good and different than our other caesar salads we make. It seemed like an old fashion version. We thought it was good but we prefer a creamier dressing. Michele, cambridge ontario

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: May 22, 2007
Used 1% milk instead of buttermilk. Very good cake, will make it again. Used glass 9 x 13 which made it cook quicker, 1 hour instead of longer as some people mentioned. Didn't put cake in freezer after cooking, had no room. I love cream cheese frosting and this frosting was good. It was almost 1/2" thick on the cake, almost too much but actually can never be too much frosting!!! YUMMY, Keeper, Thanks, Michele, cambridge Ontario

Used small soft tortillas. Boiled and chopped chicken. Place soft tortillas on bottom of 9 x13 lasagna pan. Added chicken mixture then cheese mixture followed by shredded cheese with jalepenos. Another layer of tortillas and repeat. Finished with a sprinkling of shredded cheese and then enchilada sauce. Used what I had in the house. Very good will make again.

Cheddar Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: May 7, 2007
Used 3/4 uncoked rice to get 2 cups cooked. Used tex-mex shredded cheese. Made 7 larger enchiladas instead of 10. These were good but I want to try other recipes, so many to try!!! We preferred the cottage cheese chicken enchiladas just a little bit more.

I tripled the recipe since I had teenagers to feed which I don't think affected the outcome. They were thin but a good basic recipe for pancakes. Everyone said they were yummy. Thanks, Michele, cambridge, ontario

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Way too peppery for us. We loved the "seafood fetteccine" way better. Even for Cajun it was waaaayyy too peppery. I would still cut the pepper down by half.

Seafood Fettuccine

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
made the cajun seafood fettuccine by accident thinking it was this recipe that I had made before. We prefer the seafood fettuccine way better. The cajun was way too peppery, almost ruined the dinner for us. This version is very good. Want to try it with crab legs and shrimp, which is what we did with the cajun version but could barely eat it with all the pepper. michele, cambridge, ontario
