Garlic Bread Fantastique

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
very good, nice taste but I used a bread that had lots of holes in it and it was too thin. Next time I will use a regular french stick.

Nova Scotia Blueberry Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
The top took forever to look cooked which made the bottom way too overcooked!!! I used a tephlon/dark coloured spring form pan which other reviewers said ruined the cooking process, I totally agree. All my other spring form pans are metal/silver looking and I have never had that problem before. I even used parchment paper on the bottom to try and avoid the problem but that didn't work!!! Had to throw this out, bummer. I think if I had the right pan it would have been good.

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
Used 2 1/2 cups half and half cream and 1 1/2 cups heavy cream because that's what I had in the house. My ice cream maker was too full but I happen to have another ice cream maker. When I put half in the other maker, it seem to speed up the process way faster. I always put the mixed ingredients into the freezer for 45 minutes before putting into the ice cream maker to speed up the freezing process, which is recommended by the manufacturer for mine. I only had peppermint/mint extract which I wasn't crazy about, It would have been better with just the mint flavour. Never made ice cream without egg before, very good!!! Will make again. Thanks!!!!

It was better the next day for sure. This was my first cheesecake without the baking part. I still prefer the baked cheesecakes. Not bad though. m.keddie, cambridge, ontario

will make this again but not all the time, I don't like using bacon fat too often. Maybe there is an alternative??

Black Pepper Beef and Cabbage Stir Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
We all found this pretty plain even though I added mushrooms and onions. It did help to put more black pepper on while eating eat. Maybe with different spices it would be more tasty but this wasn't for us...sorry. Michele, Cambridge, Ontario

Steak N Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
It was good but the flavour wasn't exactly our favorite. I think the bay leaves were a little much. I didn't want to pound the meat as thin as stated because I knew the venison wasn't on the tough side. Made lots of gravy. I probably won't make this again. Michele, Cambridge Ontario

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
This was good but I don't think we will make it again. It felt guily eating it. Had to make my own alfredo sauce because hubby bought marinara sauce by accident. Used 1/2 & 1/2 cream and only 1/4 tsp. cayenne which was enough for us. We prefer the seafood fettuccine by Leslie Ann Update: made again and used canned alfredo sauce and broccoli instead of red peppers. Didn't use too much pepper. Very good.

Southern-Style Meat Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
My husband and two teenage sons loved this sauce. My Mom and I found it almost too spicy and I only used 1 tbsp. of the red pepper flakes. Also the 2 tbsp. salt seemed like a lot, I used 1 tbsp and 3 tbsp oregano. Also used 1 1/2 lb. ground beef and 1 can of chicken broth. My 4 quart slow cooker was 1 inch from the top when everything was added. Sauted onions, garlic and put in slow cooker and then browned ground beef. Added everything to slow cooker and cooked on high for 5 hours. Yummy

Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
I used 2 lbs. meat. It was good but we didn't freak out over it. I should have doubled the sauce, it would have been good over the rice and extra for dipping the meat. Used chicken broth for the wine and added 1 cloves garlic. Used 3/4 tbsp. of the parsley and basil.
