Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
YES. It's THAT good!! I'm not gonna lie.... I was very skeptical. Especially since I had worked on my own recipe for so long and thought that I had finally "perfected" it. Well this was humbling. I decided to try a new recipe just because my takes so long and this one seemed easy enough (I was short on time). The crust is absolutely unbelievable!! I could not stop picking at it! However, if you like a little bit of spice to your apples, then I would recommend adding some as this recipes calls for none. I also like to add a little lemon & orange zest for a little twist. Enjoy!

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2005
These are absolutely incredible...however, there are a few additions that I always make whenever we have these: sour cream, heated milk, and shredded mozerrella cheese (in addition to the Romano since my husband LOVES creamy & cheesy mashed potatoes!) But this recipe is still excellent without those additions. THANKS FOR SHARING!

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
Although my husband and his friend really seemed to like this recipe, I would have to say that I did not. I followed the directions exactly except I left out the bell peppers (we don't like them) but in the end, the sauce came out WAY too soupy! To thicken it, I added more pasta (as I made extra just in case) and I added half a container of Alfredo sauce. It still needed a good amount of salt. Also, the chicken didn't come out as tasty as I hoped. Unfortunately, I will probably be asked to make this again sometime in the future. But, in my opinion, it really tasted quite bland and heavy at the same time.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2005
Excellent marinade! The first time I tried it, I altered the recipe a little (but still marinaded for 2 days)- due to some of the reviews about the vinegary taste and so forth. And it turned out okay, but nothing incredible... my husband didn't even say anything! Then I tried it again a few days later when we had some of my hubby's friends over. This time I followed it exactly how it said (except we used a thick pot roast from Vons- which is normally about $12 but only about $4 with your Vons card!- and I was only able to marinade the meat for about 20 min.) and it turned out INCREDIBLE! All of our guests raved about how excellent the marinade tasted and how tender and juicy the meat was! It really tasted restaurant quality! I will definately be using this recipe again. Thanks!
