Donna's Cheesy Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
This quiche was a hit at a brunch I hosted. Based on other reviewers, I made these modifications and it turned out great. Added an additional egg (used 4 total) Substituted 1/2 tsp onion powder for the onion. Substituted Fat Free Half & Half for the heavy cream. Cut back on oregano, used 1/4 tsp. Cut back on salt, used 1/2 tsp. Used only cheddar cheese (1 1/2 c.), omitted mozzarella.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2010
Added and extra 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ginger and 1/2 tsp nutmeg and these turned out perfect. Be sure to chill for a couple hours. Used powdered sugar rather then flour to keep the dough from sticking to the rolling pin. These cookies were delicious.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2007
Made this for a Christmas brunch. I really liked the flavor this recipe called for by cooking the fresh broccoli in the garlic & onion. (I used onion powder - tasted just as good as fresh onion). As other reviewers suggested I used a cheese blend rather than just mozzarella. Will make this again. I'll try adding some sausage and/or mushrooms.

Hawaiian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I made this Hawaiian Chicken Salad for a bridal shower (bride was getting married in Hawaii). I made it the night before so the flavors blended well together. Everyone commented on how good it was. Will definitely make it again.

Light Oat Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
This recipe turned out perfect. I will definitely make it again. I used butter rather than margarine. Delicious and good texture. I will play around with this recipe some more so I can add more rolled oats.

This recipe rocks! I use it with "Ali's Greek Tortellini Salad" which is also on allrecipes.com. My mom and sister have asked for this recipe.

Tasty Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I will never make the old traditional green bean casserole again. This dish smells so good as you are making it. I doubled the recipe for Thanksgiving. My mother-in-law who generally does not like green bean casserole said that it was "very good" and asked for the recipe. I used vermouth - would probably use a tad bit less next time as it was a good but strong taste. I also used onion salt in place of the onions that were to be sauted with the pepper since my family doesn't really care for onion pieces.

White Cake Frosting I

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2007
I was making this at 8:30pm at night and was too tired to run to the store for shortening. I used all I had on hand which was I can't believe its not butter. That worked OK. The frosting was really sweet!! What I really liked was how fluffy it was.

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2007
I made two of these for Easter brunch. Everyone commented on how beautiful it was and how delicious it was. It is a bit dry but add some butter to your slice and it is great. Perfect amount of sweetness. I added an extra 1/2 cup of flour when I made it as others had suggested and that helped a lot. Will definitely make this again next year.

Elegant Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
I didn't add as much flour as other reviewers suggested and added a little extra ham and carrots and skipped the almonds all together since I didn't have any on hand. This was fantastic!!!! I served it for 10 guests and everyone thought it was great.
