Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
I used a recipe for an all butter crust found at Land O Lakes website and used my food processor to blend it. I added cinnamon to the dough of the crust to make it more flavorful as well. I used Gala apples and the pie vanished instantly. A tad sweet with Gala apples, but caramely delicious!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Excellent! Even my son that doesn't care for chocolate came back for a second, HUGE piece! I frosted this with 7 Minute Frosting, which is a marshmallow-like frosting and put crushed Oreos around the edges of the cake. Didn't have buttermilk, so I used regular 1% milk and all was perfect!

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
Very easy and very, very good! If anyone doesn't like this, they had to do something wrong. Making your own bread crumbs is as easy as putting a few slices of bread into a food processor. Add very little season salt because it takes very little or your onion rings could end up salty. Why buy onion rings when you can make them for cheap! And, better tasting!!

Whoopie Pies VII

Reviewed: May 21, 2005
Although this recipe is easy to make, it lacked chocolate flavor. I've made whoopie pies before and these aren't very tasty. Sorry.

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2003
Absolutely fantastic and easy to make! I omitted the salt because of prior reviews. I made this recipe for my children and one of their friends and they devoured them!! Even without the usual cinnamon I add to my waffle batter, this was the best recipe I've tried and will use this one from now on!!

Old-Time Taffy Pull

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2002
Easy and a lot of fun! My kids helped with the pulling and it can get sticky. It's so much fun, a Taffy pulling party is in the works here!! I used flavorings such as banana, cherry and lemon you can buy from the grocery store in the spice section and it was very, very tasty! Thanks for the recipe!!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2002
Excellent flavor, texture and taste! I have tried these twice and the second time, I used half the butter in the dough and I also spread less on the outside before rolling and the flavor was just as good!! I've made tons of cinnamon rolls and these are great all the way! Thanks for the recipe!!

Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2001
My kids absolutely loved these much more than store bought!! I read the reviews and added 1 cup of honey and they were perfect. We've made them twice and each time, they were foolproof! I've added shelled sunflower seeds, mini-chocolate chips, peanuts, walnuts and pecans and they were great!! I just let the kids add the ingredients and mix it together. I won't buy store bought again! Thanks for the recipe!!

Rolled Fondant

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2001
Easy to make but needed much more powdered sugar. It was beautiful on the cake too. I used corn syrup instead of the glucose which is a nice substitution. Any flavoring can be added too. What a nice and easy way to have smooth, flawless frosting for a cake!

Really good jerk chicken! I would recommend adding cayenne pepper because jalepeno peppers aren't hot as they once were.

Country Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2001
I love it! No more box pound cakes for me! My kids love it too! I halved this recipe and baked it in one loaf pan and it was perfect! I'm making it again! It's your basic pound cake that is great alone, or with a topping or you could even embellish the batter with chocolate chips, etc.
