Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
I can't believe how simple this recipe is, and how delicious! Holy cow...seriously one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. I sort of expected them to be pale & dry but they were neither. Moist, delicious, & flavorful. I even used reduced fat feta. My husband wasn't enthused when I told him what I was fixing for dinner, but he was singing a different tune after he ate! Making these again really soon, thanks for an awesome recipe!

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I'll add my 5 star rating into the mix...this was delicious! And I don't generally like peppers very much. The beef was tender, the juice was tart but very flavorful, and the peppers were so good on a sandwich. A hoagie roll toasted in the oven & swiss melted on top of the beef-heaven!

Rainbow Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
I made this for a party & everyone was impressed! It turned out very well, I made it in a clear 9x13 dish. It was so beautiful, and very good, too! Refreshing on a hot day. The leftovers held up very well, too.

Best Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
I don't say this often, but too, too sweet! For me anyway. I didn't make the vanilla sauce, and used leftover potato rolls. The taste was delicious, though, and I will try again with seriously, half of the sugar. But I guess that's just personal preference. I'm also interested in trying the sauce next time. Thank you!

Irish Beef Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
I made this stew for dinner tonight, and it was absolutely delicious! I had second thoughts as I was putting it together and realized there were no spices! I used tenderizer on the meat and a little salt and pepper but other than that I made as directed. Tastes great! Only thing I'd change is possibly adding a little more broth, but it was a nice thick hearty stew. And the meat was very tender. Great recipe, thanks!

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Dry, dry, dry...I made these with extra cream cheese, and topped off with even more taco sauce, but the end result was not flavorful enough and dry. It could possibly be good with a can of rotel, or some salsa underneath, or on top--something. As is, I would not make again, sorry.

Zucchini in Sour Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
Wow, this was so good! I did what many others did, and added chopped grilled chicken & some garlic. I also sauteed my zucchini in the same pan I grilled the chicken in...I wanted this to be a one dish meal rather than a side dish. Served over pasta. Cannot wait to make it again in a few days!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I thought these were good, but nothing to write home about. The sauce was much too sweet for me. I would make again if these were requested, but I don't think that will happen. Thanks though.

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
I thought this was pretty good, except my pecans got really brown and I only cooked for about 55 minutes. Maybe it tastes better cold, not sure because mine is still warm from the oven. I think it has potential to be better, but as is, I'm having a hard time getting past the burnt nut topping :( If I made again, I think I'd add them about 20 minutes before taking it from the oven, maybe that would help?

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
Very easy and delicious! Just got back from traveling and haven't gotten a chance to grocery shop. I had everything I needed either in the pantry or freezer, so this was a life saver :) Served with spanish rice, everybody liked this dish!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
I thought this pie was really good...the best part was the lattice crust! Pouring the sugar mixture over the crust caused it to become sweet and crunchy, especially when it was nice and fresh. It took us a couple of days to eat it all, and it remained yummy. Served warm with vanilla ice cream, delicious. I think next time I would reduce the bake time a little, or slice my apples thicker, they were a little overdone, that's my only criticism, and it was likely my fault. Delicious pie!

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
I've only had Irish Soda Bread once before, so I don't know if this tastes 'traditional' or not. I can only offer my (& my husband's) opinion. My first thought was that it had a biscuit-like taste. He thought it tasted similar to cornbread-in fact after one bite he got up to put butter on it. (And a glass of water to wash it down) It was nice and moist; I added raisins, and liked that a lot...but I don't think I'd make it again. It just doesn't suit me. Nothing is ~wrong~ with it though, I baked for 65 minutes and the loaf was just beautiful. If you know you like Irish Soda Bread, I'd definitely give this recipe a try!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
This was a big hit! I love trying new recipes and this one didn't disappoint. Much easier than my other bbq recipe that uses home-made sauce. Of course, you use whatever sauce you want. I used bottled sauce this time. The meat shredded easily and was delicious. I already have plans to pick up another pork loin while they are on sale. Oh, and I used a 5 lb pork loin and pretty much doubled everything, I don't think I'd go any smaller than that, it's just too good!

Tunnel of Fudge Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2010
Dry, dry, dry. Made this cake for my daughters 18th birthday, she is a chocoholic and picked it out, she usually has chocolate 'dirt' cake but decided to be more mature this year. I had a piece and the bites from the inside of the cake, especially with the walnuts were quite pleasant, but the outer layer was so very dry I couldn't enjoy it. She said the pudding tunnel tasted weird, but was good. Sorry, but I wouldn't make this again. The idea is good, maybe made with a Texas sheet cake recipe?

Herbed Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I'm afraid we didn't care for these at all. Pretty bland and not at all crunchy, I even tried broiling them briefly to crisp them up, without success. So sorry, but I can't recommend these.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
Hmm, not so good for us...hubby liked it okay, actually he said B-, but son and I weren't so generous. It was pretty dry, I thought, and even with less than 2 cups of cheese, it was too much for us. Can't really recommend this recipe, sorry.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
I can't believe I haven't rated this recipe before now. I have made this recipe countless times, and I always have to double it. This is by far the recipe I have used the most from this site. These cookies are addictive, I don't usually make them unless I plan to give most of them away because I can't leave them alone. I usually cook them for about 9 minutes or so, when they are at the stage where they look like they could use another minute. They are best chewy, in my opinion, but if you like crunchy cookies then leave them in a little longer. I have many requests and compliments for these cookies, from co-workers and family. My 17 yr old daughter has made them for her friends and gets requests for them also. If you love the taste of traditional gingersnaps, (but prefer not to eat 'rocks') this recipe is for you. Crispy outside, chewy inside, absolutely delicious. Oh, the only thing I do different is use butter rather than shortening, I never have shortening on hand.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Hands down, the best brownie I've ever tasted. No, there is no veggie aftertaste, and no it doesn't need eggs. And people, please don't change the recipe and give it a low rating because it doesn't taste right or turns out rubbery. Please. My niece and I made this exactly as written, and admittedly, I was worried because it seemed veerryy dry, but once we folded in the shredded zucchini, it started to look more like what you would expect. It is a more cake-like brownie, but I have no problem with that whatsoever. Simply delicious. Thanks for an awesome ~keeper~ recipe. They are going with me to our family reunion next month for sure!

The Ultimate Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
I don't understand the 4 1/2 star rating for this recipe. I made for a get-together over the weekend and not much got eaten. I thought it was too oily (guess I should've added the oil gradually) but at the same time, dry. Too much pepperoni, in my opinion, and I didn't even use as much as called for. Actually, too much mozzarella also. All of this could be easily fixed if I made it again, but it just didn't impress me enough to try. Sorry.
