About this Cook
I'm a stay-at-home mom with a sweet young son and a cutie-pie baby girl. In between diaper changes, naps and feedings, I do a bit of medical transcription on the side here at the house to support our habit of eating. My husband is a crop farmer and grows mostly cotton and some peanuts.
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to bake--desserts and breads are my favorites.
My cooking triumphs
A huge turkey in July that was roasted with carrots. The carrots were so good that my husband was still snatching them when they were cold!
My cooking tragedies
In the distant past, some kind of barley soup that kept us a little unpleasant to be around for a while. And recently a chop suey casserole that seemed to multiply exponentially every time I got the leftovers out.

Braided Easter Egg Bread
Wonderful flavored bread! The dough was sticky, just like the dough I make for cinnamon rolls, but you just have to use extra flour when you work with it--adding too much extra flour to the dough when kneading will make a tough, dry bread. I sprinkled it with cinnamon sugar, so the whole production smelled delicious! The only issue I took with this recipe is the baking time. I reduced to to 25 minutes, and still thought the bread was overdone. (The raw eggs were still cooked through with this shorter time.) I used the leftover bread to make bread pudding.

Black Bean Hummus
Try not to cut your tongue as you lick the stuff off your blender blades! I put the paprika in with everything else, because sometimes I don't read directions very well.....

Curried Chicken Tea Sandwiches
This was great. Next time, I'll double the amount of pecans.
