Hot and Sour Slaw

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
i made this with green cabbage and used sriracha instead of red pepper, and did half cider vinegar and half rice vinegar. it smells like WHOA. it tastes pretty good. next time i will use all rice vinegar and just omit the cider.

Cubed Parmesan Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
good lord these are quick and delicious. i add a little italian seasoning to give them an herby flavor. I make them all the time when we have to stay late at work — it's such a relief to have a quick way to cook potatoes! and these are so good, too!

Green Bean and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
I halved the dressing and there is still a ton left in the bottom of the bowl. I plan on using it as a meat marinade. Other than that I followed the recipe and it is very good, will definitely make again, but might replace cider vinegar with balsamic — the fruity taste in it seems a tad out of place.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
i'm a southern girl living in yankeeland, so i found this recipe in my search for a taste of home and it really hit the nail on the head. just fantastic, the gravy was so scrumptious, i was licking the spoon i used to stir it! I seasoned the patties with grill seasoning before browning them, and omitted the sherry because i didn't have any on hand, and they were still just amazing. I also used a combo of EVOO and butter instead of vegetable oil since the gravy used a roux as the base. this was so wonderful, exactly what we were looking for!

Korean Spicy Chicken and Potato (Tak Toritang)

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
we love this — and I'm Korean :-) i usually use breasts instead of drumettes and add some freshly grated ginger, this smells amazing while it's simmering. if you don't have hot pepper paste on hand, Sriracha (the hot chili sauce) works incredibly well in this too.

Chili Con Queso Bites

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
We are eating these right now and really like them. used regular pam and they came out of the pan just fine. added garlic salt and tabasco sauce. these are great, like little cheesy salsa muffins!

Balsamic Vinegar Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Delicious — only giving it three because i can't believe garlic was left out. also added some crushed red pepper to make it a little spicier. but all in all a very refreshing, delicious potato salad. add green beans if you like them!

Paige's Feta Slaw

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
I'm eating this as I type, and I'm surprised and a little bit disappointed to say it's actually a little bland for me. i did add some cucumber, jalapeno and red bell pepper though, so the vinaigrette may be stretched too thin. the feta is great in here though and it's quite nice and light. will add more salt, pepper, slightly more vinegar and maybe a dash of tabasco and squeeze of lemon juice.

Salisbury Steak Deluxe

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
i had to scrap this one together since i didn't have alot of stuff and it turned out great! i used pre-made beef patties, cream of chicken instead of mushroom, spicy mustard instead of regular since i didn't have horseradish. added some dried parsley and steak seasoning to the sauce. i seasoned the patties with steak seasoning and garlic powder before browning, boiled sauce and then simmered for 12 minutes...turned out wonderfully, thanks for the great recipe :-)
