Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2014
Made recipe as is and found it a little bland. After using only sour cream, and adding a full teaspoon of both garlic and onion powders, this recipe is a 5 star recipe!

Cheddar Crackers

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
These do really taste like Cheezits! I followed the recipe, but ended up needing about double the tbls of water it called for and I doubled the cheese per other reviews. I also had to cook them about 10 extra minutes to get nice and crispy. My kids love them!!

Traditional White Bread

Great tasting, easy and basic white bread. I substitute local honey for the sugar, and veggie or coconut oil for lard. Makes great sandwich bread.

Grilled Zucchini Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2013
Delicious and a great way to use up zucchini. Definitely easier with an extra large zucchini. I had medium sized ones, so I cut them long wise, and grilled them that way. Made it a bit harder, and messier on the grill, but the taste was still great.

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

An easy, basic recipe. A little bland, so I would suggest some garlic powder, or other seasonings.

Zucchini Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2013
This was delicious. I just chopped the zucchini instead of grating, I used a whole 8 oz brick of cream cheese and also upped the milk to a 1 cup. I also added another clove of garlic and a tbs or so of finely chopped jalapeno.

Manicotti

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
Delicious! My kids gobbled it up! Only thing different I did was season my tomato sauce with some garlic and spices. It also helped me to slice my manicotti shells open and just re-roll them up once i placed the filling in them. When I tried to stuff them, I couldn't get the filling in without ripping them anyways. Worked well. I still used the 3 tbls of stuffing, that was just the right amount.

Pub-Style Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
Delicious. I had no tomato paste or wine. Like one reviewer I added 1/4 cup coffee in place of the wine, and used about a can of tomato sauce.I added 2 beef bouillon cubes for some flavor (since we are not strict vegetarians) All seasonings are as is in the recipe. I think it tastes delicious and you would never know it was a vegetarian version with all the yummy beans and veggies. Has a nice kick, but not overbearing. Going to make some cornbread to go with it.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
These are delicious. We made as is, only added 1 additional egg for binding. They basically tasted like a taco burger. I think next time I will skip the "taco seasonings" and add different ones for a more regular burger taste. But even my picky young kids ate them up with a slice of cheese and some pickles!!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 9, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly. The taste is fantastic, but next time I will mash the bananas instead of slice. The big, mushy purple chunks just aren't appealing. I also had to cook it about an hour and 20 minutes for it to be done.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
I will admit, I am one of those people that will scrape the frosting off of the cake and throw it in the garbage. But this frosting is fantastic. It will not make you sick with sweetness or eat away at your teeth because of the sugar. It is a mild sweetness and comes out thick and creamy. I only added about a 1/4 cup more of powdered sugar then it called for and followed the rest exactly. I was able to frost 2 9 inch round cakes with plenty left over to decorate the top. Yum!

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
I decided to try this since the store bought ones contain so much unhealthy junk . It was Delicious. I did not have canned onion soup, but had dried onion soup mix. I added that, and about a cup of water. I omitted the mustard and ketchup, but kept everything else. They were delicious and even my kids said they tasted allot like the Banquet Salisbury steak we used to buy.
