Collector of Mickey Mouse, clowns, teddy bears, Pillsbury Dough Boy and red carnival glass.
I'm on a weight-loss journey (so far have lost 38 lbs. & still going).
With my job, I travel extensively.
Vacations are usually at time-share spots, resorts.
I drive my husband crazy, because I'm a Type A personality & perfectionist!
I'm an animal-lover :)
My favorite things to cook
I look for low-calorie, low-fat & heart-healthy recipes.
My meal-prep time is down to a science.
I journal everything I eat (including licks, nibbles, tastes) which goes in my mouth!
Love to experiment with spices, sauces & strange combination of flavors.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My large family gathering for the Thanksgiving feast (main courses are roasted ham & turkey). It has grown so much, I now have to rent a banquet room!
Christmas morning we invite all the kids over for Mickey Mouse waffles & made-to-order omelets.
I sway towards Midwest fare; naturally since I live in an agricultural region.
I often get requests to serve-up recipes from our previously-owned restaurant.
My cooking triumphs
I get rave reviews from my husband & family with everything I cook. The compliments just keep on coming!
Special occasions: parties, showers, holidays, caterings, etc.
My plate presentations (your eyes always eat for your stomach)!
My cooking tragedies
The famous sugar fight I had when I was a newlywed with my ex-husband; which got way out of hand.
Sugar was flying everywhere in the kitchen: in my hair, down my back, even in my underwear. It was a big mess all over the kitchen counter, floor & ceiling. It has become an infamous topic of discussion.
