About this Cook
I am a 31 year old mother of 2 boys and one foster son. I am married to a wonderful man. I am currently a homemaker and a student at Arizona Western college. I am going to receive my associates in theater and then I am transfering to university to receive my bachelors and then my masters in education. I finished medical treatments in February 2008 ( i started them in January of 2007) and so have been down and out for a while but am getting back in the cooking game.
My favorite things to cook
All kinds of things. I like to do gourment and fancy foods to make my family and others I cook for feel special. I go online to all kinds of recipe sites and will try anything that sounds good and isn't too complicated.
My favorite family cooking traditions
hmmm....I was raised by my grandmother and she is a Southern women. Lots of fried foods and meat and potatoe's. I don't really cook that way, but one thing I did learn is make stuff from scratch if you can and have the time.. it is always better than a box. But if you use a box, there are always ways to make it your own and add that little TLC. just cause it's from a box, doesn't mean it can't taste good!
My cooking triumphs
Still waiting for one. LOL
My cooking tragedies
Have, fortunately, not been that unlucky yet!

Easy Roasted Pork
I made this just like the recipe said, i didn't have cinnamon apple sauce though, so I used regular. It was still amazing! My children and husband loved it and ate the whole thing that night. Awesome recipe!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
I made this recipe Exactly the way it was written except I added about a tablespoon of fresh minced garlic. I also didn't have red wine vinegar so I used distilled white vinegar. The meat came out WONDERFUL! I even cooked buttered egg noodles and sugar snap peas to go with it. My husband, who is a wonderful cool, LOVED the meal. And my kids ate 2nds and 3rds! My only suggestion is when maybe make the liquid part of the recipe increase it so there is enough to drizzle over the noodles. They all wanted more sauce. Amazing!

Peanut Butter Cereal O's
I cooked this dish last night It turned out pretty good. Not the greatest thing, but the kids love it! Very kid friendly and something they could easily help with. I did mine on the stove since I have a small microwave. It was VERY simple and the flavor isn't bad. We added some of the easter candy we had left to the mix at the end. made it pretty interesting and colorful. (we used sixlets and about 7 rolo's) The rolos make for a carmelly surprise when you find one. :)
