Buttermilk Doughnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2015
Made half of the recipe and decreased the flour to 2 cups. Used my doughnut maker and baked for 6 minutes. Came out perfect. Makes 10/12 doughnuts this way.

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2014
Made recipe as described except I also added a Jalapeno pepper for a little extra hotness. Served over grilled chicken breasts and it was the perfect compliment. This does a a lot, so I am freezing the balance.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
This makes a beautiful, fine grained loaf of bread. I did cut back the sugar to 1/2 cups as others have suggested. Since I have kefir, I have been replacing about half the water with it and it cuts the sweetness just a little.

Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
Used this recipe as written in my old Hamilton Beach Donut Maker. Thought it would make them a little healthier. My husband wants them fried, so will try it that way next time. These are easy and quick to make.

Blackened Fish

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
This is the first fresh trout recipe my husband has ever liked! Aside from using only 1/2 cup total butter, the remainder of the recipe was the same. Used a cast iron skillet and cooked outside.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
These were really light and fluffy. I felt the 1/3 cup of sugar was too sweet when used as a dinner roll, so I cut that to 1 T without affecting the wonderful taste. When used as a breakfast bread the recipe as written is perfect.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2010
These wings came out perfectly --so much better than pre-seasoned frozen ones. I didn't have the Bob's Hot Sauce others were talking about, so just used what I had on hand --Part Lousiana and part Canjun hot sauces. The wings were still frozen when I floured them, so just let them unthaw with the flour coating for about an hour. Don't see how this recipe could be any better.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
One of my favorite fall breads. I am generous with the spices, and many times add 1/2 to 1 cup of nuts or raisens. Also use a mix of brown and white sugars. I am going to try this recipe in some Nordic Ware mini bundt pans for gift giving.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
I made this recipe a written. The cookies came out perfect and were easy to roll and cut. I did keep the dough in the frig. and just grabbed enough to roll out several cookies at a time. They were frosted with the "Sugar Cookie Frosting" recipe. This does make a lot of cookies!
