Chicken Milano

I tasted the sauce as is and it was bland so I added in some white wine as one commenter suggested. It did improve it a little but still just okay. Had to add some parmesan cheese to give it more boost. Won't be making this again.

Butternut Squash Soup

Very good, definitely a keeper. I used half the amount of cream cheese as other reviewers suggested. Also used oregano instead of marjoram as that is what I have on hand.

Chicken was bland on the first day. It's slightly better the next day after it had absorbed the flavours in the sauce. Will look for another recipe to try next time.

Creamy White Wine Sauce

Wine can be overpowering and salt should be halved. I've also added some chicken stock as the sauce was a but bland without it. It's an okay sauce but I'd probably use another recipe next time.

Pizza Without the Red Sauce

This was too bland for our taste. I added a bit of dry sherry to give it some kick but it seems to still be lacking something I can't put my finger on. Will a different recipe next time.

Spanish Potato Omelet

I was a bit skeptical with this recipe because it seems plain and too easy. Decided to give this a try though to use up potatoes and they came out very good. Omitted the spring onion and tomatoes since that's how they serve them in Spain. This definitely brought as back and is good served hot or cold. Thanks!

Banana Muffins II

I used 3/4c wholemeal, 3/4c plain flour, vanilla,cinnamon and sultanas. This came out okay, a little on the bland side. Would probably not make this again and would try other recipes.

Onion Chicken in Balsamic Sauce

I had some left-over sun dried tomatoes in the fridge and didn't want to do a pasta dish so decided to cook this. I read the reviews beforehand and I'm glad I did. The balsamic vinegar would have been overwhelming if I followed the original recipe. I used 4 chicken breasts, cut it to strips, sprinkled with garlic salt and let it marinate in the fridge for 2-3 hours. Then I browned the onions, garlic and chicken in the pan and transferred them to baking dish. I used 1c chicken broth, 1/4c red wine and 1/4c balsamic vinegar. The sauce didn't thicken for me so I also used some cornstarch to help it along. Transferred to baking dish and baked for 20 mins. Hubby and I loved it. I would probably skip the baking part next time and just let it simmer on the stove. Given that there's too much modification to the original recipe, I'm only giving this 2 stars. It would have been un-eatable as written. Good idea though.

Coronation Chicken

I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about using mayonnaise for this but it turned out really well. It's quick and easy to make too. The flavor and texture's great and the recipe is quite versatile in that it could be served as a cold salad or heat it up for a warm accompaniment to bread or rice. Thanks for the fantastic recipe!

Vietnamese-Style Chicken Curry Soup

I used basil leaves instead of kaffir lime leaves as suggested by one reviewer. Also halved the spices and still found it quite hot. It's yummy though so I think I would tweak it a bit more next time. Probably would put the bell peppers later than specified as they came out overcooked.

Classy Chicken

Except adding onions, I followed the recipe exactly. We were disappointed by the finished product. I don't know which of the ingredients was causing it but there was something bitter in the sauce, ended up throwing out the sauce altogether and making something else.

Fresh Asparagus Soup

Made this following the instructions to a T but wasn't a fan of the result. I think the parmesan cheese was overpowering but not sure if removing it would improve this soup. Thanks for sharing but I don't think I'll be making this again.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Ran out of mayonnaise so had to use milk. Baked this on a rack as others have suggested but it didn't come out crispy at all - don't know if not using mayo was the problem. Anyway, hubby and I liked this recipe and the chicken came out juicy. Would make again, next time with mayo!
