I love making soups, mexican food, stirfry and I love to experiment with new recipes. I love to make everything spicy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My granny makes real macaroni and cheese and all of the grandkids fight over who gets to take the left overs home. When me, my sister and my cousin were kids, we would eat my granny's sugar flowers for decorating wedding cakes. We thought she never knew, but when we were teenages she said she knew the whole time...
My cooking triumphs
Everytime I cook something that turns out good is a triumph! :)
My cooking tragedies
When I was first learning to cook (when I was about 10), I made cookies and added 1/4 c. of salt instead of 1/4 t.! My baking has improved, but not much...

Tortilla Casserole
This was not good - tortillas made it mushy...

Burrito Pie
This was good although I didn't find it to be spicy at all. I used ground turkey instead of beef and substituted the jar taco sauce with Newmans Own farmers garden medium salsa. Oh yeah, and I added some chili powder and cumin to the meat.

Mango Teriyaki Marinade
The store I was shopping at was out of mango nectar so I substituted peach nectar. I also saved some dried cherries and topped the chicken with them. Fabulous!
