About this Cook
I have 3 children and I love to cook new things. I love it when I cook for new people and introduce them to something new.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian and anything sweet or chocolate
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to cook foods that my Italian grandmother cooked and try to figure out the measurements she used.
My cooking triumphs
I made a lemon cake with raspberry filling for a baby shower that just melted in your mouth, that would be my favorite.
My cooking tragedies
My worst one would have to be the chocolate cake that I made using salt instead of sugar. Was very early on in my cooking adventures.

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting
Great frosting with loads of options for different flavors. I used a rum extract instead of vanilla and it was delish. I did need to double it as it wasn't enough for a 2 layer cake.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting
Very good frosting! I didn't think it was bitter but then again I love chocolate. I made it exactly as stated in the recipe and it frosted a 9" 2 layer cake. Very good recipe, I'll keep this one for lots of cakes.

Easy Grape Salad
I tried this as written plus I also made one with mandarin oranges. The mandarin oranges produced too much juice but would work well as a trifle with whipped cream and angel food cake. The grapes were great. I can't wait to try this with other fruit too.
