Coquito

I made this recipe for Christmas this year. My Latin neighbors liked my recipe better than their own. So, with that said, this recipe is the bomb! I made a double batch and every drop of it went. I had other guests...not just my neighbors. haha Didn't want you to think they drank it all. :o) I will make it again next year for sure!!!

Almond Orange Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
This was an exceptional coffee cake. This recipe will be added to make it often list. The only change I did was to use only 1/2 cup of brown sugar, otherwise I followed it exactly. It is wonderful with the glaze. It IS a sweet coffee cake but then that's the way coffee cake should be. Right? I found that I had to bake it for 40 minutes, but everyone's oven is different. I added some orage zest to the glaze too. Love this recipe. For you doubters out there...try it, you'll like it!!! I guarantee you'll get compliments.

Old-Fashioned Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
I've made a similar "by guess of ingredients" for many years. I came across this recipe and decided to give it a try. I followed it with a couple of reviewers suggestions. I added a can of whole kernel corn in place of one of the creamed and added just a little over a half cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese. I had some goldfish crackers that were nearing their expiration date so I replaced 3/4 cup of the saltines with crushed goldfish. It was delicious. This yummy recipe will be added to my collection of -Best Recipes. Thanks so much for sharing.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
My neighbors/friends are from NY. They requested New York Cherry Cheesecake for (her) birthday. It was well received with lots of ooohs and aaahs. They haven't stopped talking about how good it was and now it is (his) birthday and I will be making it again today for him. I know they will be thrilled to have another taste or ten. Love it. Thanks so much.

Caramel Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2007
I don't know what JSM was talking about...being too much bread? It's called "BREAD" pudding. :) Anyway, I'm giving it 5 stars. It was delicious, moist, and I didn't change anything except the kind of bread I used. I had some leftover Irish soda bread with raisins in it from St.Paddy's Day that I didn't want to go to waste. It made wonderful bread pudding because it was a rather sweet bread to begin with. The soda bread was homemade, not store bought stuff, so it was a truly homemade bread pudding. I will definitely do this again and may make soda bread specifically for this recipe and not wait until after St. Paddy's Day to make the bread pudding. Thanks for posting this great recipe. My hubby loved it too!

Crab Stuffed Haddock

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2006
If I could rate this wonderful recipe with a couple more stars I would do that. This was so delicious...it belongs on a menu in a fine restaurant! I made a couple of changes only because I didn't have the ingredients listed but, OMG, it was fabulous too. This is what I did >>> I used store bakery bread, I cut into cubes, and while the oven was preheating placed the cubes on a baking sheet in the oven to dry for a few minutes. I used fresh Parmesan (shredded) in place of the Romano. I didn't have any fresh tomatoes so I substitued a can of diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano. (I diced the tomatoes even finer, using approximately the quantity of a fresh tomato.) The fish I had on hand was Cod. Will make this often. Great recipe to make for company if you know they like fish. Thanks JellyKO for posting this most delicious, simple, and eye pleasing recipe.

Butternut Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
Absolutely a 5 star rating on this recipe. Thank you Valerie for submitting this delicious dish. I made it last night and served it along with grilled salmon steaks, garlic mashed potatoes and cole slaw. My husband won't go near squash of any kind with a ten foot pole. I put about a 1/4 cup of it on his plate and said please, just taste it. I fully expected that he would be scraping his helping into the trash. Was I surprised! I asked if he liked it and he didn't hesitate at all in saying "Yes". He couldn't stop eating it and went back for more!!! He thought it was wonderful. I will make this again. It will be a great addition to holiday meals.

I have searched for an easy but tasty rhubarb pie for years. Nothing ever compares with mom's rhubarb cream pie, but this pie is really delicious and is restaurant quality. Very professional presentation. I will make this again and again. I did not make any ingredient changes. Thank you so much for posting this great recipe.

Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2006
I just made this recipe for St. Paddy's Day today. I made cutout Shamrock Cookies. This dough rolls out easiest if it is kept cold so just take out a small amount at a time from the refrigerator. I made the dough as directed and refrigerated it overnight. I will never use another sugar cookie recipe. These are the best tasting and softest sugar cookies ever. Thank you Michelle for such a great recipe!
