Grammy's Overnight Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
So easy to put together on a Sunday afternoon and pop in the oven for a delicious Monday dinner. I thought it could have used more seasoning, husband thought it was perfect.

Cream Cheese Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
These are really good. I used a bit less powdered sugar than the reciped called for, because it seemed sweet enough. I sprinkled mini chocolate chips on top. Very pretty, very tasty, and very well liked by everybody.

BUSH'S® Red, White and Bean Minestrone

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
This was pretty good, but it seemed like a lot of effort and a long list of ingredients for just being pretty good. I probably won't make this again.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
I give this 5 stars because both my 5 & 1 year old kids liked it. I used uncooked skinless boneless chicken and it cooked up beautifully. After about 8 hours on low I removed the chicken and shredded it. Before putting the chicken back in, I thickened the broth with a little cornstarch & water mixture. My husband had to add some hot sauce to his bowl, which was fine because it was mild enough for the kids.

Vicki's Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
We liked these exactly as the recipe was written, and dusted with powdered sugar after cooking. Whether or not you like these appears to depend on where you live and what you consider a hush puppie to be. Some people complain that these are too sweet, well to me that's how hush puppies are supposed to be. Others said they added corn, which in my experience is more like a corn fritter than a hush puppie. If you are trying to decide whether or not to make these, look at the recipe and see if this is what you think a hush puppie should be. My husband, two young kids, and I really liked these. Next time I'll probably cut the recipe in half because it made too much for us.

Chicken with Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
So easy, so delicious, so juicy, so tender! I love this recipe! Brought leftovers to work and I could cut through the chicken with a plastic fork, no knife required. I followed the recipe exactly. Yes, the stuffing is a little mushy but that's how I like it. Great comfort food. Husband, 5 year old, and 1 year old liked this as well. Don't delay, make this today !

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
Quick, easy, and yummy - what more could you want in a weeknight meal? Husband and 5 year old liked it, 1 year old loved the apples. I browned the chops in the skillet, then removed them, added the apples and (doubled) brown sugar mixture and simmered that for a few minutes, then added the chops back to the skillet and simmered another 10 minutes or so. Very good. Will probably make this again.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
Yes - it's really that good!! I cut recipe in half but followed proportions, it was not too watery for us. Served with vanilla ice cream. Tasted even better the next day - who knew it was possible to improve on perfection?! What more can I add that hasn't already been said? Make this apple crisp, you won't be disappointed.

1-Dish Taco Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
You should try this, it's really good! I followed the recipe as written. Having read a couple of reviews stating the pie plate was too full, I instead used an oblong Corning Ware casserole dish. I don't know the dimensions of the dish, but it was a bit larger than the pie plate and had deeper sides. There was no issue with leaking over the edges. We served this with refried beans on the side, and sour cream on top. Delicious and easy, I will be making this again.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This was okay, but I was slightly disappointed considering all the fuss from so many other reviewers. The liquid was really watery, the roast was not super tender, the flavor was not spectacular. We ate it, but probably wouldn't make it again.

Kerry's Beany Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
This was edible but a little bland. It reminded me a lot of "Black Bean and Couscous Salad" only not as flavorful and yummy. It made decent leftovers for lunch, both warm and cold.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
My 5 year old daughter loved this! My husband and I thought it was okay. Adding the eggs was tricky, they cooked too fast. I'm sure with more practice I would get it right, but not sure if I'll try this one again.

This is sooooooo good! We have brought it for a few family parties and you should see the crowd gather around the bowl! We bake it in the oven for a few minutes and serve with the Frito Scoops. Yum! I am constantly trying to find excuses to make this!

Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

This didn't taste very good to me. It was very very dry and crumbly. Also took longer to cook than the recipe states. I ended up throwing it away.

Toasted Oats Cookies

Soooooo good! I used Quaker old fashioned oatmeal and followed the recipe exactly. My only complaint is that it didn't make enough! I will be making these cookies again and doubling the recipe. Delicious!
