A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
This was delicious and smelled great while cooking. I sliced the breasts so they were pretty thin to eliminate the "too chickeny" taste. Definitely a keeper in this house.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2008
This was very tasty. One change I'll make next time is to use less salt. I doubled the recipe and used the left over chicken on a salad the next day.

Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
This was amazing! Changes I made: I used 2 cups ricotta cheese instead of the 2 cups of cottage cheese, I added mozzarella cheese to the top when I removed the foil, used fresh basil and oregano, used half the amount of spinach (I chopped it more after I took it out of the package), added 1 lb cooked hamburger meat, used 1 1/4 cups water instead of 1 1/2 cups. Even my 6 year old loved it!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
Very good! It does take some time but it's worth it. I used fresh basil. I used one 14 ounce can of crushed tomatoes and one 14 ounce can of Italian diced tomatoes (with oregano and garlic)instead of the large can of crushed tomatoes. I also used oven ready lasagna noodles (no pre cooking necessary!) I did 3 layers (3 noodles on each layer) since there was so much sauce. I guess you could just freeze the extra sauce for another time...Next time I will definitely use far less salt and shredded mozzarella cheese.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
This recipe was really easy and smelled great while cooking. My husband and I felt that it was a bit too salty. If I make it again I will skip the extra salt and may use low sodium soy sauce.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2007
This was really good. Even my 5 year old liked it. It's a nice change from ordinary tacos. I left off the sour cream and put it on the table for those who wanted some on top. I also served tomatoes and lettuce for toppings. You definitely don't need a whole bag of cheese or a whole bag of chips!

Simple Slow Cooker Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
This was so easy! I used 1.5 lbs hamburger and .5 lb sausage. Instead of mixing ketchup into the meatloaf, I used 1/2 cup of salsa. I only used one egg. I drained it before adding the ketchup to the top. The consistency was perfect and it stayed together perfectly!! Yummy!

We did not like this recipe. The taste of the stuffing was very overpowering.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
This was so delicious! Everyone in our house loved it. I used one pound of chicken breast, 8 ounces of pasta, 2 cups of heavy cream, added a little red pepper flakes, and a little more of all of the seasonings (we needed more than 2 servings!) and it was so good! Will definitely make again.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2007
This was soo good!! My husband, who isn't a fan of bbq, loved it and so did my 5 year old. Changes I made: poked holes in the pork and rubbed a little salt and pepper before adding the root beer. Drained the pork an hour before serving it, shredded it a bit and added 1/2 of the bbq sauce. I cooked it on high for the last hour. I finished shredding it and added the rest of the bbq sauce before serving. I served this on Kaiser rolls.

This was very good. A big hit with the in-laws, which is always wonderful! :-D I used 1 cup red wind and 1 cup beef broth. I also left the celery and onion out.

These were good. A nice change from the typical hamburger. I think I would love the cucumber sauce on a romaine, tomato and feta salad...yummm

This made some very tender and tasty ckn tenders. I didn't measure anything but everything came out soo good. I used zesty bread crumbs for some spice and added some italian seasoning...very yummy and kid friendly, which is a great bonus!

Baked Ziti II

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
This was pretty good. I couldn't find ziti pasta so I used penne. I will probably add a bit more sauce next time. Also, a medium bowl is too small to mix all the ingredients in. You definitely need a large bowl. It wasn't heated as throughly as I think it should have been after 30 minutes, I put it back in the over for about 10 minutes.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
Very good. I followed the recipe except that instead of plain tomato sauce I used Mexican style hot tomato sauce. It turned out a bit spicy but my husband and I enjoyed it a lot. I cooked it on low for about 12 hours and it was still great. It's great warmed up the next day too!! Very quick--perfect for a working family.
