About this Cook
I'm a 46 yrs old. I moved to SA in 1999 and love living here. Have learned so much in lots of different ways. I plan on staying here for good. I have two grown daughters, the oldest is married and just had her second child. I have a wonderful life partner, Christelle, who actually likes my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I like one dish meals that are quick and fairly easy. I am not one to spend lots of time in the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The biggest is that on rainy days we have pancakes (crepes) with cinnamon sugar on them.
My cooking triumphs
I am currently baking all our own bread for everyday use. I don't use a bread machine. I am working on being more of a "green" family.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to say, lol's.

Carrot Burgers
This is a great recipe! Even my carrot hating spouse loves it! I made a few changes. Mainly, I used corn flake cereal instead of wheat as that is what I had on hand. I did not use olive oil, I used regular vegetable oil and only 1 tablespoon. Then I put a tablespoon of fruit chutney in it. I also mixed some of the cereal crumbs in the batter itself to help hold it together better then coated it with the rest. I also added a bit of Cajun spice, but you can season it to your specific tastes. I have recommended this to my friends as I think it is that good.

Baked Cream Corn
All I can say is that I love this dish. I had a friend over that also loved it so much she had to get the recipe.
