Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
This was SO easy to make and tasted delicious!! I accidentally doubled the beef boulion because I didn't read that my package was 'extra large' cubes...but it worked out alright in the end because I needed to add water as it simmered down (a little more simmering and it would make a GREAT potpie filling!) So tasty! My friend who came over for my first attempt at it took the recipe home with her that night!!

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
I love this recipe! I've made it 4 times now, and the last 3 times it has been HEAPING double batches!! I do nearly double the veggies bc I'm a big fan of carrots. it freezes and reheats so well that as soon as I finish cooking I pack it down into those 3cup disposable containers to store for the winter....great recipe, fed it to a friend for the first time last night (she came over while it was simmering and stole some) and she instisted on taking the recipe and a container full home!!!

Scrambled Egg Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I loved the flavor of these and they were a big hit at the brunch potluck I took them too. However, I had major issues getting them to NOT stick to the pan. I tried greasing the pan, a silicone pan, and muffin cups and they always stuck

Peanut Blossoms II

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
I love how easy these are. They are always the first cookies that I turn to when I feel like baking. But can anyone get 84 cookies? I usually don't pay attention, today I measured them really carefully and still only got 64

Bill's Divinity

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
I chose this recipe because my dad was the one to make the divinity and his name was Bill too. My first attempt won his approval!! My only tip is to make sure you store this in an airtight very clean container. I kept it in a plastic container that evidently still had a bit of dishsoap film clinging to it and after a couple days the candy had absorbed the soap flavor

Easy Pork Chop Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
Quick prep, easy, delicious! What more can you ask for. I like to put a layer of sliced mushrooms under the chops in the baking pan to help keep it from sticking.

I loved these, lost the recipe for too long after making them the first time. I'll update my review after I make them again.

Peach Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2010
I read the reviews saying the pie came out sloppy so I followed the suggestions to add some corn starch. I also baked it at 450 for the first 15 minutes then reduced for the rest of the baking time. However, I still ended up with a sloppy mess? and the bottom crust didn't get baked. I added cinnamon and allspice, which made the flavor good. I might try this again, prebaking the bottom crust...but I'm not sold on this recipe

Taco Seasoning

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
I love the flavor of this! However the # of servings throws me off! It says 36 servings, each being 1/4 tsp. If you were to say a serving of meat is 3-4 ounces then this would be enough seasoning for nearly 7lbs of meat? I find that its closer to 1 1/2 lbs of well seasoned meat.

Classic CRISCO® Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
My FIRST homemade piecrust! It was my first Thanksgiving as a married lady and I thought I'd make everything from scratch (figured it would make for good stories down the road, haha) Everyone was very impressed with the flavor (I used butter flavored Crisco sticks) and texture of my pie crust, the only catch was I had a deep dish pan (Didn't know that) so my crust was a little short for the dish. Next time I'll know that the deepdish double crust recipe is: DEEP DISH DOUBLE CRUST •2 2/3 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour •1 teaspoon salt •1 stick well-chilled Crisco® Baking Sticks All-Vegetable Shortening • OR 1 cup well-chilled Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening •6 to 10 tablespoons ice cold water

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2012
I love to make these in the fall with apples from my tree...even my hubby, who isn't really a "muffin guy" enjoys them. I do use a #20/3Tbsp sized scooper when I fill my muffins and get a full dozen, slightly smallish, muffins

Healthier Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2012
While very moist I found the chicken to be rather bland. I have never roast a chicken before so I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of throwing some mushrooms in with the veggies because hubby and I love mushroom...should the skin have been crispy? because mine was decidedly not. All in all, I'll try this again.

Squash and Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
I genuinely enjoyed the flavor of this dish. However, the top layer of squash just did not cook thru even after adding 10 minutes to the cooking time. In order to ensure that we didn't dry out the pork we ended up cooking the top squash in the microwave after removing it from the oven. Our slices were about 1/4inch thick following the suggestions of not over cooking and the layer UNDER the pork was done perfectly. I will plan to make this again, probably with more broth mixture to give moisture/steam for cooking the squash or maybe putting all the squash under the pork.

Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
This is my husband's new favorite barbeque sauce! We make 1 1/2 to double batches and seal it up in canning jars so we always have it on hand. GREAT over shredded beef for sandwiches.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2013
AWESOME and easy!! We baked the chicken over brown rice so we had to bump the cooking time up but the taco seasoning lended its flavor to the rice as well. Due to the rice we had to cover the chicken tightly with foil until we added the cheese but this turned out so flavorful, easy as can be!! We will have this again

Oven-Fried Catfish

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
We'll try this one again...it has potential, however as written our fish lacked flavor, and even though the internal temp was 170 after (fish is done at 140) it did not get flaky inside or crispy out.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

I really liked the flavor of this but it seemed too runny...I now see the suggestions recommend adding panko, I'll have to try that next time
