About this Cook
I work 40+ hours a week at an animal shelter and I run a wildlife rescue out of my home. I look at allrecipes.com almost everyday to find quick and easy meals so dinner doesn't become a bore for my husband and I. (that is, WHEN I cook)
My favorite things to cook
Stir-fry, salads, desserts and the occasional gourmet meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom always made great beef stew and I can't imitate it no matter how hard I try.
My cooking triumphs
I made up a great Cajun dish once but I never write any of my creations down and I can't remember how I made it.
My cooking tragedies
See above Triumphs. Plus I made a cookie recipe off of this site once that took so much time and turned out such a disaster it made me cry.

Spaghetti Carbonara II
Wow! What a great recipe! My husband and I were both a little sketchy about spaghetti with no sauce and covered in eggs of all things but we didn't miss the sauce at all! I have never had or made this before but I will make again soon. I followed the recipe as written and added red pepper flakes and garlic powder after the eggs were added. I also added a liberal amount of fresh ground pepper to the bacon as it cooked. What a great dinner with ingredients I already had around the kitchen. I can't wait to eat it for lunch tomorrow!

Oatmeal Carmelitas
Great! I couldn't stop eating it! Though next time I'll not add the full 3 Tbl of flour to the caramel. It made it so thick it wouldn't spread, so mine came out a little dry. It was still very, very good. Great party recipe!

Fluffy Chocolate M&M(TM) Cookies
I think someone is playing a joke on us. I don't think that picture is actually from this recipe. Mine turned out like big, thin manhole covers that stuck to the parchment paper. Sorry kids, I can't give it a good rating.
