Tender Breaded Turkey Cutlets

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
This was a nice take on turkey cutlets. I seasoned them with pepper prior to breading but should have used salt also. I took MBC's suggestion and used mayo w/dijon. I used ground pecans instead of bread crumbs which added a nice flavor. Thank you Tanya!

Yvonne's Pea Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
This was really good. I added four strips of cooked and crumbled bacon and used mayo instead of sour cream. I might cut back on the curry a bit next time. Thanks Yvette!

Slow-Cooked Round Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2007
I used cube steak for this recipe. I also decided to saute the onions and make an onion gravy rather than using cream of mushroom soup. I added a little worstershire sauce and the steaks turned out tender and flavorful. Thanks for sharing, Dona!

Lemon-Dilled Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
I loved this sauce. It was so rich in flavor and complemented the brussels sprouts beaufifully. I'll probably use less lemon juice and add a bit more dill, but then again I love dill. Thanks Marlyn!

Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
I made this for my friend's birthday (she's a cheesecake fiend!) and she loved it. Of course she twisted my arm and made me have a slice too! I used the Praline Sundae sauce from this site as I forgot to purchase caramels, added and extra 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese and an extra egg and it was to die for. Talk about eyes rolling back in your head. Next time I'll try to make it low carb with a pecan crust and splenda in the filling. Thank you Amy!

Praline Sundae Topping

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
I used this sauce to go with the Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake from this site (I had forgotten the caramels). I didn't have marshmallows but it turned out wonderfully anyways. I doubled the pecans. I can't wait to try it on ice cream! Thank you Bea!

Green Beans with Hazelnuts and Lemon

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
Very good. I used butter rather than olive oil just for personal preference. I think it's important to chop the hazelnut finely to better complement the green bean and lemon flavor, otherwise it's a bit overpowering. Thank you Christina!

Buffalo Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
This was a great recipe. I used the sauce from Restaurant Style Buffalo wings and since I hate pounding chicken, I just cut a slit in each breast and stuffed the cheese in the pocket. Next time, I think that I'll use gorgonzola or bleu cheese rather than provolone. Thanks D & S Parker!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
I used this sauce for the AR recipe Buffalo Chicken rolls since I didn't have wings on hand. I doubled the hot sauce (Frank's) and marinated for about 45 minutes but next time I'll marinate it even longer. For those who want a milder taste, I think that the recommended 1/4 c. would be fine. Can't wait to try it with wings. Thanks Kelly!

Green Chili Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
I used pork loin as I think it goes so well with green chile. Like others, I made this in my slow cooker so I omitted the oil. I used 14 oz frozen green chile (with liquid) so I reduced the broth to 1/4 c. I didn't add tomatoes or potatoes for dietary reasons, but did add about two cloves minced garlic. This is very similar to the way I usually make my green chile meat, but I usually don't add cumin. I'll definitely be adding it from now on. Thanks Lynn!

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
Mmmm...I used pork cube steaks as I had those (I'd never tried them before) but used only about 3 tbsp. of flour (low-carb) after dipping in the egg. The crust actually turned out pretty of good. For the gravy, I sauteed about 2 tbsp. finely chopped onion, about 1 tbsp. of flour and used cream instead of milk. I have, however, decided that I prefer the beef over the pork cube steaks. Thanks Patti, this one hit the spot!

Jalapeno-Garlic-Onion Cheeseburgers

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
These were great! I used cheddar as I didn't have pepper jack which I bet would be fantastic. I nixed the buns and ate with a fork. Very satistfying. Thanks Steve!

Habanero Pepper Cream Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
Travis, you are my hero! This was divine! I actually just made the sauce and served it over chicken. I used jalapeno instead of habanero, and added about 1/2 c. salsa instead of tomato. It was so good I wanted to eat it with a spoon! Thanks for the post!

Greek Style Garlic Chicken Breast

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2007
Okay, you had me at "garlic"! Fantastic chicken! I marinated this overnight, following directions exactly. Next time I will reduce the salt but I'm not big on salty foods. I seared the chicken breast and then finished by baking them (covered) and they were yummy! Thanks Michael!

Doggie Biscuits I

It's so hard to rate a recipe when I'm not the one eating it! However, from my pooch's reaction, this is a 5*! He has kidney problems so I substituted ground veggies for the eggs and redueced the pb to 2 tbsp. He loved them. Thanks Dani!

Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
Suffering from withdrawal on my low-carb diet and craving starchy food, I came across this recipe. I modified is so I wasn't cheating so much that I was riddled with guilt. I used only 1 tbsp. of flour, which worked well with the two cups of half and half (slightly less carbs than milk), omitted the onion and used about 1 tsp. of onion powder, 1/4 tsp. garlic powder and a dash of paprika. Served over steamed cauliflower, I *almost* felt like I was eating Mom's hamburger gravy over potatoes. Thanks Steven!

Super Scrambled Eggs Number One

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
Perfect for my low-carb diet. I didn't use any butter for the eggs, I just drained the majority of the bacon grease and cooked the eggs in that. I didn't add salt due to the salt content in the cheese and bacon. I even made these the night before and they were yummy this morning. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Marinated Vegetables

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
Yum! I used only broc & cauliflower as I'm low-carbing. I used Good Seasons w/red wine vinegar and olive oil. I also added diced muenster cheese (others had suggested mozzerella but I didn't have any on hand). I let it marinate several hours and it was fantastic. I can't wait to try it tomorrow for lunch. Thanks Chris!

Easy Minute Steaks

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
This recipe is easy and simple, however my steaks turned out tough. I bought them from my usual grocer whose steaks usually are tender. I added pepper, salt and garlic powder prior to browning them. If your in a bind for a quick meal, this is a good recipe but I wasn't very impressed with the end result. Sorry :(
