About this Cook
I LOVE to cook and love to try new recipes and I find to be a lifesaver in finding a variety of recipes, getting recipe ideas and inspiration. is another one of my favorite places to share recipes, life and friendship.
My favorite things to cook
Ethnic foods, new ways to prepare veggies, anything that has chile, spice or that all-inspiring CHEESE has my attention!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Deviled eggs at every family get-together and creamy mashed potatoes at every holiday meal. My Mom's Christmas Pecan Sticky Rolls which always taste better when prepared by her...I've never been a baker.
My cooking triumphs
My blackened tilapia is to die for!
My cooking tragedies
Though there are MANY, once, I put a whole chicken on to boil, intending to take it off the heat and put it into the fridge before leaving the house for the ENTIRE day. I forgot, leaving it on the stove and came home to a house filled of smoke. All that was left of the chicken was a pile of charred bones. I threw out the pot and spent days trying to get the smell out of the house. Thank goodness the house didn't catch fire!

Fluffy French Toast
I had a craving for French toast this morning, and this hit the spot. I increased the egg batter somewhat because I used thick-sliced French bread. I like French toast recipes that use flour in the batter because I think it makes the crust a little crispier. Thank you, Bonnie!

Tiger Butter II
Very good & very easy! I might sprinkle toasted chopped peanuts on this next time. Thank you, Nancy!

Buffalo Chicken Wings III
These were delicious! I hate frying so I loved that these were baked. As many others had suggested, I baked mine longer, about 50 minutes, before dipping them into the sauce. I doubled the amount of hot sauce (Frank's) and these were gobbled up at the New Year's Eve party I took them to. Thank you, Walt!
