Cooking helps me unwind and forget about things for a while - I have always tended to focus too much on work, so the release in the kitchen is welcome. I really started trying new things (often from this site) about a year ago and often blog about what I'm up to. All four of my readers love it. My favorite things to cook
I'll try anything at least once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays with my family are always delicious, though my mom does the big stuff because she's the best cook in the family. I need to learn how to make her apple/raisin stuffing...
My cooking triumphs
Finally learning a way to dip truffles without them looking like blobs. I'm not perfect, but at least they're the right shape now. Baby steps!
My cooking tragedies
My first time making lasagna I didn't read the last direction that said to cover the pan with foil; by the time I realized, the noodles were curled, and a little burned, on top. I was able to salvage it by covering at that point. But oh, did I mention it was spinach lasagna for my dad and 3 brothers (read: meat eaters). They lived, but the feedback I got was: next time more meat, less spinach.
