Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
This was my first ever sweet potato pie ever made and eaten by me. Was awesome! Did taste like pumpkin pie! This is a keeper! Felt so good about it, I'm giving a pie to my neighbor.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
This is an awesome recipe! The rub was sooo good. I did like others and cut the salt down to my taste and glad I did. What's nice is you can cook it to your desired wellness. This recipe is a keeper.

Slow Cooker Green Beans, Ham and Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
This recipe is awesome! It's just good down home cooking that seems to be forgotten. I threw all my veges in with the ham and let it cook all day. I was concerned about the potatos drying out while heating, so I added one cup chicken broth. The green beans were cooked to death but tasted great! My roomate's dad would only eat his green beans this way! He'd send them back if they weren't very very soft. Can't go wrong with this recipe

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This turned out to be a great recipe! I felt like a top star chef. My picky kids even liked it. The only thing I will change next time is use a little less half & half and add about 1/3 cup of my leftover chicken broth. I've always felt, even for restaurant fettuccini, that it is too thick and stick to your ribs kind of meal. Thank you so much!

All American Roast Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This recipe is a keeper! It's the first time I've ever made a roast beef meal. Took the advice of using a meat thermometer, cooking to 120 degrees with water in the bottom of the pan. I like a little blood tenderness. Next time I will cook at 275 instead of 200 degrees. Took too long. I made the mistake of not cooking a watery soup base dip or gravy for the beef. Will hunt for that next time. A great meal for company without the cost of prime rib roast!

Slow Cooker Venison Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This is a great recipe using venison. I'm amazed at the low ratings, must be new. It's hard to cook great meals with venison without going the extra mile to get some of the gamey flavor out. I added potatos and carrots. Had to use a cup of water,a full 15 oz can of tomato sauce and only used one lb of venison. The tomato gravy turned out excellent in thickness. Like a lot of my tomato based stews, I added 1/4 cup ketchup,a tbsp of worcestershire and two tsp of bacon grease. Wow, delicious! This is a keeper. I challenge anyone to try this.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
Very easy and a delicious recipe. This was my first "white" cream sauce enchiladas, always did red sauce. I took other's advice and used cream of chicken soup and corn tortillas. I don't like soggy flour tortillas. Will make these again and try them on my kids who are very picky!

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
This recipe was excellent! My roommate and I went back for seconds. I've never made this kind of meal and it is a keeper! Took other's advice and doubled the gravy and onions. I was concerned about the mess and leftover grease in the gravy, so I took the extra time and grilled my patties on my G. Foreman grill. Will make this meal on a monthly basis. Great on the budget!
