I've been using this recipe for a year now but I always omit the pecans and the icing. Lately, I've been separating the batter into 2 batches before adding the (I use all-purpose) flour mix and the sour cream and adding 1/3 cup of cocoa powder to one half. This is the result of layering the two kinds of batter. My friends love it.
