Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
I have been doing this slow cooker-crock pot stuff forever and these cheaper cuts of beef are the best for this recipe. PaulineL is right on the money by saying "slow cook today, refrigerate tonight, remove the fat on top tomorrow re-heat in the crock pot again and Voila!!, it is dinner. Less mess if one uses oven bags, which I love and I only use 1 can of soup, no water and one envelope of dry onion soup mix. By the way, God is female because only a woman sees the value of a crock pot.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I put a split turkey breast in the slow-cooker, added 1 cup of cranberries and 1/4 cup orange juice, then put it on LOW for around 6 hours. I drained the liquid, mashed the cranberries, added a can of cream of chicken soup and half a can of water to make an amazing gravy. It ws very tasty and the color was added another dimension. Couple that with turkey dressing, peas and mashed potatoes, it was an easy mid-week dinner. The hard work already done by my slow-cooker; the greatest invention since I don't know what. Lastly, I agree with some of the other folks in terms of the dry onion soup mix. Not a good addition.

Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
I live in Erie, PA, and cold is a reality, except for August. Maybe. Further I am a great soup lover and this is a great soup and I love it. It has meat, potatoes and veggies and the broth is to die for.

Two Ingredient Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
As above, this cake is the BEST. It is without a doubt a 5 star. I have used both a spice cake mix and a carrot cake mix. Both went over well. I did add two eggs and I used confectioner's sugar rather than icing. I have made it for potlucks, for picnics, for the family, or just my husband and I. In Erie, PA, when it gets chilly, damp and cold, it is a great comfort food with coffee after doing those pesky leaves.

Ciabatta Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
This bread is the best. A lot of work is taken out by the machine and I can still keep my hands in, if you will, by only using the dough cycle. I will say that I put a round cake pan full of water in the oven rather than spritzing as it was easier. It freed me up to do other things. Again, great bread.

Slow Cooker Venison Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2002
MY COMPANY HAS "POTLUCKS" ON OCCAISION TO ALLOW THE EMPLOYEES TO NETWORK WITH STAFF. THERE ARE USUALLY 30 PEOPLE OR SO. I MADE THIS BECAUSE I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. IT WAS VERY EASY, WENT OVER QUITE WELL AND NO-ONE BELIEVED IT WAS VENISON. ONE COMMENT WAS, "I NEVER EAT VENISON", WHILE THEY WENT FOR A SECOND HELPING. AND AT LAST COUNT, I GAVE OUT 12 COPIES OF THE RECIPE(ONE TO THE PERSON WHO WON'T EAT VENISON).

Zucchini Pineapple Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2000
I DOUBLED THIS RECIPE AND ADDED APPLESAUCE IN PLACE OF THE OIL. MY HUSBAND DOES NOT LIKE ZUCCHINI BREAD AT ALL. AND AT LAST COUNT HE HAS GONE BACK FOR A THIRD TIME. BY THE WAY, SINCE I COOK A BIG MEAL ON SUNDAY SO WE CAN EAT EARLY IN THE DAY, THIS PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO MUNCH ALL DAY. I LOVED THIS ONE. GOOD JOB, SOMEONE.
