Elegant Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
This recipe always gets compliments. I use the turkey ham and fat free evaporated milk instead of the half and half. I also throw in other veggies (broccoli, corn) that I might have on hand. Great flavor!

G's Flank Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2007
Great flavor! My husband, who is not a steak fan, loved it. After making the marinade, I put some of it aside and brushed it on the steak while it was on the grill.

Citrus Scallops II

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
Fantastic! Instead of dill, I used 1/2 tsp. oregano and 1/4 tsp. basil. I did not have green pepper and so added chopped broccoli and small pieces of spinach. Plus, I had some shrimp on hand and put a few in. Definitely will make again.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
Great and simple. I did cut the asparagus into bite size pieces so the kids would eat them. I cooked them 7 minutes, pulled them out and put on the Parmesan cheese and then cooked them 4 more minutes. Like others, I had the vinegar out on the table as an option.

Double Layer Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
I have served this both at Thanksgiving and Christmas - it was a hit! The second time around I used Devil's Food pudding without the whipped topping. It was very tasty.

Oatmeal Pancakes II

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
I also used 1/2 wheat and 1/2 flour. Plus, I used applesauce in place of the oil. These were very tasty and filling! I will definitely use this recipe again.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
I made this for book club and my family. I got rave reviews! I used a homemade brownie recipe which people said made a difference. I also mixed the pudding with 1/2 c. water, condensed milk (fat free), and then 1/2 c. milk. It still tasted great without as much sugar. Whipped topping was also fat free. Very rich and delicious!

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
After reading some reviews, I did two things to make sure the cookies would not be too runny. First, I added the sauce to the oatmeal so I could see if I needed all the sauce or not. Second, a friend told me to let the cookie mixture sit in the bowl a little bit to cool down and then spoon it on wax paper. This worked great. For a creamier taste, you can also add marshmellows with the peanut butter and stir until all is melted. Great recipe!

My family enjoyed the recipe. I did add some chili powder for a bit of spice. The biscuit recipe was good. Very tasty!

Empanadas

Reviewed: May 24, 2006
Very addicting! I did follow the advice of other reviews - using fork tines to seal, lots of flour, and not a lot of preserves. I didn't have regular cream cheese and used lite. They still turned out great!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: May 4, 2006
Superb! I always have to make a double batch for my family. I heat the milk, water, butter, sugar & salt until the butter is melted. Then I wait until the liquid is luke warm. I add it to the rest of the dry ingredients.
