Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2013
This was an easy recipe to follow and it was delicious! Even better than the Tiramisu from our favorite restaurant. Next time I'll take the time to brew extra strong coffee so the coffee flavor really shines through. Thanks for a fabulous recipe!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
I love this salad! Over the years this recipe, and the recipe for Strawberry Spinach Salad have become my go-to salad recipes. They never fail to impress and are delicious! I keep this dressing, and the dressing for the Strawberry Spinach Salad mixed up at all times in mason jars in my fridge, I make them that much!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
If I could give these 10 stars I would! PERFECT, and the best pancakes I've ever had! I sub half whole wheat flour, and they are still light and fluffy and delicious! We have been making these every Saturday for the last few years.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
I boil and shred my own chicken breasts, but other than that, follow the recipe exactly. It's a dip that I crave, and make whenever we have a football game on or a casual get together with friends. So yummy!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
This is very good, and I will be making them again, but since I had to doctor them up quite a bit I gave the recipe 4 stars. I added a whole jalapeno, and next time will add 2. They are very good with additional seasonings added, and bland as written. But still a very good basic recipe that I will be following in the future.

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
This is very good! I cut the black pepper in half and added just a pinch of the cayenne and left the hot pepper sauce altogether, for the sake of the 6 little ones in the house. :) Hubby and I added a generous amount of Tabasco at the table. I made some yellow rice and served it in the bowl with the soup, with freshly cut homegrown tomatoes on top, with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt. YUMMY! Will be on my regular menu plan!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
This is a very good soup that I think is almost identical to Chicken Tortilla soup. I made it with chicken broth instead of beer, and squirted in a generous amount of lime juice. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I offered chopped cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream and crushed tortilla chips were offered as toppings. Very delicious and everyone loved it!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
Made this last night to go with our chili, and it was excellent! I'd been looking for a copycat Boston Market cornbread recipe that didn't start with a mix and stumbled across this recipe. It is even better than theirs! I made muffins, and added slightly more oil per other reviewers. Will definitely be my go-to cornbread recipe! UPDATE: I've made this cornbread quite a few times now and it really is best exactly as written. I like to make them as muffins. I found this recipe when I was looking for a Boston Market copycat cornbread recipe, but I didn't want to use all the mixes that recipe calls for. This is a great, from-scratch substitute!

Whole Wheat Pumpkin-Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
These are very good! You would never guess they were made with all whole wheat flour. They came out very moist and light and rose beautifully! I omitted the white sugar at the suggestion of other reviewers, and since I didn't have any applesauce on hand, I used mashed banana instead. I also used dried cranberries instead of the raisins just because I love the combination of cranberry and pumpkin. Delicious!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
I have NEVER written a review on here, but I just couldn't help myself on this one. I have been on the hunt for the perfect Blueberry Muffin recipe for years, and have finally found it. I first made this recipe about a year ago, and it was delicious as written. But after reading reviews and tweaking it ever so slightly, I have found the most decadent, delicious, PERFECT blueberry muffin. Here's what I did: I kept all the amounts exactly the same EXCEPT for the sugar. I used 1 1/4 C. white (granulated) sugar, and 1 1/4 C. brown sugar. Then I added to the flour mixture a little fresh ground nutmeg (could use regular ground nutmeg, just a pinch), and 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon. I followed other reviewers suggestions and added this topping: 1/2 C. brown sugar, 1 C. flour, 6 T. cold butter, cut into pieces, and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. I'm telling you, it makes the BEST, bakery quality muffin! So scrumptious! Oh, and be sure to follow the mixing directions exactly as written. That's what makes the texture so special!

Slow Cooker Italian Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
I've been making this chicken for years, with a few minor changes. No water is needed. DON'T add any extra salt as a previous reviewer suggested, it'll be WAY too salty. Sometimes I'll splash in a little white wine at the end, and I use sliced mushrooms, not chopped. We serve it over egg noodles, and the whole family loves it. It's delicious, and yes, rich, but you don't eat like this all the time!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
I've never reviewed a recipe on here before but I just had to this time! I am a Southern girl and I must say these Chicken and Dumplings come out so delicious and so authentic. I made them with boneless, skinless chicken thighs since that was what I had, a can of cream of mushroom and a can of cream of chicken, and I used chicken broth instead of the water. I also followed other reviewers' suggestions and seasoned it all up with S&P, dried minced onion (instead of the fresh it called for), celery seed, thyme and garlic powder. It was DELICIOUS! My whole family raved about it. This will definitely become one of our regular Sunday lunches! Thank you for the recipe!
