I didn't have much here before because I didn't have anything to say but it was driving me crazy having a practically empty profile page so now I'll babble about myself for a bit. Well, let's see. I have discovered food. Well, discovered in the sense that I learned that it's actually a whole lot more fun to cook and then eat rather than just eat.
My favorite things to cook
I've noticed that a vast majority of my reviews are for desserts which is odd since I don't consider myself that big of a sweet tooth. However, I love to bake for others! I bake a lot of sweet treats to saisfy my family's sweet cravings. They're my biggest critics and nothing makes me happier than seeing them enjoy something I've made. I'm not vegetarian, but lately I've been big on making veggie versions of meat entrees. I love how you don't even miss the meat! Thus, I love to cook with beans, tofu, lentils, etc...I love the weird recipes on AR, the ones that are slightly eccentric. If you haven't you must try- Mock Tuna Salad, Mock Apple Pie, and Mock Guacamole. Mmm, fake food!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad makes these awesome fish calzone type things. We still get together and make them because it is a laborious process. He'll make the fish mixture, I'll knead the dough, and then we'll both work together to stuff the dough with the fish. We race to see who can stuff the fastest and it's so much fun.
My cooking triumphs
The "To Die for Blueberry Muffins" from this site! It's the first thing that I have ever made where my family was actually going to admit that I made it! After that, definitely the Sushi Rolls(AR), Sour Chickpeas(not here, maybe I'll submit it), and the Food for the Goods recipe found here. Every time, I make a veggie dish and someone besides me likes it, I consider it a triumph!:)
My cooking tragedies
Many recipes that I've tried out of cookbooks have been failures. I love cookbooks because they're so pretty but I always seem to pick out recipes that end up going horribly wrong. Want a list of my failures? Mango pudding, Carrot cake, Oatmeal Date bars, Chicken and Dumplings, Indian Potato Stuffed Bell Peppers, Egyptian Rice, Pasta, and Lentils, Monster cookies, Biscotti, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. A vast majority of what I make ends up in failure actually. That's why I still consider myself a beginner:)

Sunshine Toast
I saw this recipe and thought it looked interesting...it was:) A new way to eat eggs and bread...though I have no idea why 2 TB of butter would be necessary, I used about 1 Ts.

Can't Tell They're Low-fat Brownies
Due to a strange series of events, I ended up having pureed prunes in the house. Recipe really needs to be doubled in order to even use the 8x8 pan; it makes such a small amount of batter. Follow Paradiso's review- extra TB of cocoa, only 1 TB of oil, 3/4 c of sugar. handful of choc. chips. I really want to combine the pureed prunes idea with the black bean brownies on this site. Dust with powdered sugar.

Marshmallow Fondant
There is no fault in this recipe. I'm merely an idiot and an amateur chef that needs more practice, to be sure. But the lilies that I made with this fondant were quite pretty though I must confess I am frothing with jealousy while looking at some of the pictures on here from cooks, no artists, much more talented than myself- in particular, the beautiful Easter type egg basket that's on this recipe page- goodness, that's talent.
