Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2007
When I've had Chicken Cordon Bleu in the past, I never remember especially liking it. I thought I'd give it another chance with this recipe and I was so glad I did. My boyfriend and I both agree that this is one of the tastiest meals I've made. The only thing I did differently than the recipe is add a lot more wine (Pinot Grigio). I served it with green beans, which was nice. Next time I'll also make a some mashed potatoes too, because the sauce would go well with it! Next time I might also add mushrooms to the sauce, just to change it up.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2007
I followed the cake recipe exactly and left out the nuts for the frosting and it came out great! I served it with vanilla ice cream and the 2 together went perfectly! I served it for a birthday at work and people have been talking about it all down the halls, days after the party. Everyone loved it and said it was the best carrot cake they have had! It was my first time making carrot cake too!

Lower Fat Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
Well, I can't honestly rate this recipe yet.. because I changed it so much. I tried to make it even lower in fat, and I ended up sacraficing a lot of the flavor. Instead of sugar, I used cooking splenda, and instead of butter I used zero calorie I can't beleive it's not butter spray... so, the outcome was a bit unflavorful. It was incredibly moist and if I had added another cup or so of mashed bananas and maybe some cinnamon... it really could have been something good and extra extra extra low fat! It was super easy to make and moist as ever... I will probably try this one again!

Cranberry Sauce II

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
I used splenda instead of sugar and it was still good! One of my guests cringed when she saw splenda, but said she could hardly tell the difference afterwards! It's so nice to have such a simple, easy task when there are so many other things to worry about when making Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone was so impressed with the fresh cranberry sauce and it was the simplest dish I made!

Reduced Fat Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
This recipe was a huge hit! I served it with reduced fat vanilla ice cream.. and everyone loved it! It's not as rich as regular pumpkin pie, but it was lighter and nicer.. I didn't feel so heavy after eating it.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
This was my first turkey ever. I've been told the turkey bag method is pretty good.. so I made this entire recipe inside a turkey bag and it came out great! I also put the remainder of the onion inside the turkey and when it was done.. the broth was AMAZING! Everyone enjoyed it, I would make this turkey again!

Drunken Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
I don't have a bbq grill, so i made this chicken in the oven. I seasoned the chicken before adding the mustard, and added a few seasonings in the beer can as well... the chicken was very tender, but i thought it lacked some flavor. It was good, but I don't think I'd make it again.

Mid-Summer Italian Bread Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
This is my new favorite salad! I used a roasted garlic bread instead of the fresh garlic the first time.. and it was amazing! The second time I made it, I used a rosemary bread and fresh garlic.. and it was good too! I like this recipe, becuase you can play with the ingredients a little bit. Some fresh pepper on top was nice too!

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

This was my first lasagna and it was a hit! I added a can of crushed tomatoes to the meat mixture, with some fresh italian spices.. also 1/2 cottage cheese and 1/2 ricotta mixed with some spinach for the cheese mixture. It was a lot easier than I expected it to be and the leftovers were good the next day too!
