Made as is, except for adding a t. of vanilla. I used frozen wild blueberries - excellent recipe. Moist, flavorful, and simple!

Sweet Potato Pie I

Really good wanted to give it 5 stars but it was a tad too sweet in my opinion. Otherwise great simplicity. Thanks!

Spintz Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
I did the cake portion of this recipe and it was excellent. Reminded me a lot of the "one bowl chocolate cake" on this website...but better. Can be put with any frosing, I did a bundt cake and ate it as is. Very moist and better even the next day.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
Too much bread crumbs. I really think it's better to just do a roux and add cheese and milk and stir and bake. I tried this to just throw together and bake, but not saucy and rich like we like our mac n cheese. Sorry!

Bologna Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
Good! Basically ham potato soup with a little variation on the meat. If you fry the bologna after you cut it in a pan to brown a bit it tastes better in my opinion and also I prefer a roux over cornstarch. Added a few other spices (garlic, parsley, etc.)

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Perfect scones. I diced chilled butter and cut in with my hands like making biscuits, no need for proccessors or frozen butter. I added t. cinnamon and t. vanilla to dough then drizzled glaze of conf. sugar, maple extract, van. extract, and milk on top. So cinnamon maples scones and wow...just like Starbuck's but better!!

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
This was awsome with some changes - I cut the butter/sugar in half and used bacon grease instead of butter, left out green chilis only b/c I didn't have them and wow. I will ONLY use this recipe from now on. So moist and flavorful. 5 stars for sure.

Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: May 29, 2008
Giving fours stars b/c really it needs only three cups of sugar, I like sugar don't get me wrong, but four cups was too much and mine set great, maybe a bit too thick, but I refridgerated it and I bet if you let it sit out to room temp before serving it would be perfect. Loved the ease of this recipe. Used a thermometer to reach 220.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
Very simple recipe and easy to knead by hand. Nice smooth soft dough. Made the perfect amount for sandwhiches or baguettes. It was so chewy and airy and perfect. I will be using this tonight for meatball subs! Thanks for an easy tasty recipe.

Frosted Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
I had high hopes for this recipe. I guess my main complaint was the bars or the frosting were not peanut buttery enough, and it made WAY WAY too much frosting. I strongly recommend halving it. We scraped a lot of frosting off (and I didn't even put near the whole amount on there), and ate them anyway, but won't make again. Thanks anyway.

Good recipe - loved the dough, very easy to work with and rose beautifully. Next time I will boil them in baking soda water then bake and then I think they will be 5 stars.

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2008
Excellent, what more can I say? Used smoked paprika instead of regular, added some chipotle seasoning, and used a large can of Rotel. Also added a small can of tomato paste for extra richness. You really can't go wrong with this recipe. Yum, Yum, Yum.

These are soooo good. I ate three out of the oven with butter. It is sweet and I could see eating these with breakfast, chili, snack time, etc. Very easy and kid friendly. I will make these often.

Good - halved it, microwaved for a few seconds to pouring consistency, and added a few dashes of cinnamon. Poured over a bundt cake. Easy and does the job....added an extra T. of butter per other reviews.
