Poke Cake I

The actual cake (without jello) was good- nice and moist. I didn't really like the parts where the jello had completely saturated the cake.

Stir-Fried Chicken With Pineapple and Peppers

This tasted pretty good when it was freshly cooked, but I thought that the pineapples and peppers tasted funny when the dish was reheated the next day.

Lentil Soup

I didn't have any white wine and used sherry instead (don't know if that's okay or not), and the soup was good, but not as flavorful as I would have expected, until adding the parmesan. Once I added nice portion of parmesan, it was pretty awesome.

Amish White Bread

I'm a beginner to breadmaking, and this recipe was easy, even to me. I followed the recipe exactly, and my bread came out with a really nice flavor and very fluffy consistency. It even stayed soft after a few days.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

This tasted wonderful, even though I substituted evaporated milk plus some flour for the heavy cream. My husband and I both agreed that it tasted like something you'd get at a restaurant. The ingredients are pretty inexpensive, and the preparation is not complicated.

Fabulous Wet Burritos

Very easy to make, because you're just mixing a bunch of stuff. They end up looking pretty impressive. The sauce (unchanged from recipe) was on the sweet side, so if you enjoy that sweet/salty combination (as we do) - you will like it. My husband said he enjoyed this more than food he's had at local Mexican restaurants.

Apple, Carrot, Or Zucchini Cake

I really like this recipe with zucchini, because it isn't as greasy as most zucchini "bread" recipes. Sometimes I add raisins, instead of walnuts, which I think goes really well with the zucchini. Also, I often substitute whole wheat flour for half of the flour, which gives it a nice heartier texture. This recipe is very versatile.

I think I baked it a little longer than the recipe called for and drained the peaches overnight, and this turned out really well. Everyone liked it.

Death by Chocolate and Caramel

These did not turn out as well as I expected. The caramel needed to be cut with milk or something similar. I was expecting gooey caramel, but the caramel basically ends up harder than its original state. Some people might like that, though. Way too chewy for my taste.
