Tzatziki Sauce I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
Yummy! I did add chopped up cucumber and chopped up my garlic. I did not have fresh dill so I used dried and think it came out just as good - will have to try with fresh dill though. Thanks now I can have it whenever I want :)

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
Wow, wonderful aroma while cooking and flavorful. The sauce I added garlic to mine and the combo was excellent. Thanks for the recipe. Though I did use the food processor to "mash" the garbanzo beans - I was very careful not to overdo it by pulsing. I got a nice chunky like texture, I also added more than a dash of cayenne pepper, didn't use the olive oil and only used about 2/3 of the bread crumbs as it was already manageable at that point. In addition, I shallow fried them as another person suggested. The best - thank you for making my Lenten season better :)

Brown Sugar Banana Nut Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2006
What an awesome recipe! My husband and I had half of the loaf when it came out of the oven - we could not wait for it to cool. He just kept commenting how great the "cake" was and that I will now have to do it more often - first time I even attempt to make banana nut bread. Wonderful smell while it is baking, simple and delicious. Only thing is I used the bisquick mix instead of the flour, salt and baking powder. Great recipe - a keeper!

Tofu 'Fish' Fillet Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
I tried this as I had bought Tofu to make a pasta salad and had some left over. Maybe it is because I didn't make the sauce but it was bland and didn't get crunchy - it just seemed soggy to me.

Simple But Awesome Lemon Pepper Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
I loved these pork chops - they are melt in your mouth good. Juicy and flavorful. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is that my husband didn't like the lemon flavor with the worestershire sauce. I did it a second time with just salt and pepper instead of lemon pepper and he loved it. I also do not use the olive oil and butter - just the butter as I prefer that taste. Thanks Matt for sharing!

Creole Seasoning Blend

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
In reading all the reviews, I took the advice of some of the others and decreased the amount of salt - I think that is why I didn't give it 5 stars since it had the nice kick, full of flavor but it was missing something - to me I think it was the salt. Will use again but follow the recipe to the T.

Deep-Fried Turkey

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
We tried this for a family get together. I must say it smelled wonderful - I think our whole block knew we were cooking :) It was the first time anyone in our family had fried turkey - everyone thought it was delicious - I did do one little modification. I did inject the turkey with lemon juice the night before. I would do this again but maybe add a bit more salt.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
Absolutely wonderful. I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes but my husband is. I was looking for a recipe that would tickle my fancy. Well, this one did it! It was great - I don't think I will make sweet potatoes any other way. The topping is what does it for me - thanks for sharing :)

Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
I had never tried to make bread and thought I would try with this recipe. It was easy to follow and the bread was tasty - though the shape of the bread was off a bit - too fat in the middle - they looked like footballs. Other than that wonderful tasting bread - it tasted just like the ones in the bakery.

Rum Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2006
This cake is absolutely amazing. We recently went to Jamaica and bought a rum cake and it was fabulous. Since then I'd been looking for a recipe and found this recipe. Everyone who had the one from Jamaica agrees that it tasted like it. To make it more healthy, I did use splenda, sugar free pudding and eggbeaters - I tried it with all different types of rum too (Brugal, Bacardi, etc.) and they have all been excellent. The last one I did I experimented by injecting some of the glaze into the cake - you have to be very careful because if you inject too much it will get a sour like taste to it if it is too much. Everyone enjoy and thanks for the recipe!
