Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2006
Excellent! I doubled the curry and used 1/2 and 1/2 and it tastes just as good but with fewer calories. I also used a rotiseree chicken and it adds a lot of great flavor to the soup. I also add about a cup more broth because I also add more carrots and rice. Really great recipe! Thanks so much! My husband begs for this soup all of the time!

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
I thought these hamburger steaks were great! I didn't have any garlic, or sherry--other than that I followed the recipe and really enjoyed it! Really easy and a wonderful comfort food.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
So yummy and easy to make. Pumpkin puree is just the can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) found in the baking aisle. My husband says he even liked it better than our traditional zucchini bread! It's definitely a keeper!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Didn't add the raisins--don't like them, but other than that the recipe is a great potluck item and I have used it for years! Yum! It's even good with a 1/2 broccoli and 1/2 cauliflower!

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I rated this a 5 out of 5 in the soup category. It was a little high in sodium-- but other than that it was quite healthy and yummy! I used quick cooking barley and popped it in there about 15 minutes before the soup was done. Came out perfectly! I had plenty of broth! It was great with a mini loaf of artisan bread. mmmm.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Used fresh mushrooms instead of canned. Everything else I did the same and it was fantastic! Really similar to beef stroganoff(sp?)! Simple. Tasty. So good! Adding this to my monthly menu.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
This was fantastic! I followed other reviews and opted for the half & half instead of heavy cream. Used 2 cups of the half & half and added a little bit of cornstarch. Tasted great! I also omitted the parsley. Very warm and delicious! My husband loved it!

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Awesome! Really easy and delicious. I used Kale instead of Spinach and put that in at the same time as the potatoes. Use hot sausage instead of mild and then you can omit the extra ingredient of red pepper flakes. I also used low-fat milk in the place of cream. Perfect!

Excellent! Mine was definitely a chili (very thick)-- but still delicious. Put low fat sour cream and green onions on top. Served with tortilla chips. Very easy too!

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Love it! The dressing needs to be doubled and I think that the green onions could be cut in half. Fantastic with grilled shrimp or fish!

Really good pancakes! I would definitely reduce the salt to 3/4 tsp. and a little less butter. Other than that it was fantastic!

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
This is meant to be a plainer dish and it is fantastic! I add tomatoes and low fat sour cream to mine. My husband likes the cilantro cream cheese recipe from this site with his rice. We also add about 3/4 can of corn, nice for texture. Very good!
