Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2006
Excellent! I doubled the curry and used 1/2 and 1/2 and it tastes just as good but with fewer calories. I also used a rotiseree chicken and it adds a lot of great flavor to the soup. I also add about a cup more broth because I also add more carrots and rice. Really great recipe! Thanks so much! My husband begs for this soup all of the time!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
So yummy and easy to make. Pumpkin puree is just the can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) found in the baking aisle. My husband says he even liked it better than our traditional zucchini bread! It's definitely a keeper!

substitute applesauce for the oil and you have a healthier, just as yummy, recipe!

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
I thought that this was good--not great because I felt like it needed more flavor. I used fresh herbs, and doubled the balsamic. I felt like it needed more balsamic, salt, and garlic. I baked mine for 50 minutes- the potatoes and onions should be cut into smaller pieces (because they take the longest to cook). Unique combination of vegetables--which I liked the variety. The traditional: Potatoes, carrots, and onions are good--but it's nice to spruce things up with squash and sweet potatoes.

Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
I liked this recipe. It wasn't quite what I was looking for {I wanted more corn and a bit heartier soup..maybe add potatoes}.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Really good pancakes! I would definitely reduce the salt to 3/4 tsp. and a little less butter. Other than that it was fantastic!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
I doubled the marinade.. a must. It ended up marinading for about 7 hours. Really good! I'm not usually a fan of sweet flavored meats (honey, terayaki, etc.) but this was fantastic!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Didn't add the raisins--don't like them, but other than that the recipe is a great potluck item and I have used it for years! Yum! It's even good with a 1/2 broccoli and 1/2 cauliflower!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
I've never made Chicken Cordon Bleu but this recipe was simple to follow. I didn't have wine on hand so like others I just used Chicken broth. Wasn't sure how to put toothpicks in, but what I did worked out. The sauce was really good and flavorful. I made my chicken pretty thin and only had to cook it for about 20 minutes. Delicious!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
I've made this one several times and love it. Don't overdo the cheese, it doesn't taste right. Also be careful not to overcook the peppers or else they will just fall apart and you can't stuff them with the rice/beef mixture. I serve with cottage cheese and maybe a slice of bread. Really easy to make and very good.

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Love it! The dressing needs to be doubled and I think that the green onions could be cut in half. Fantastic with grilled shrimp or fish!

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I really didn't care for this soup (and I'm a soup person). It needed vegetables: carrots, celery, zucchini. Way to salty. I could barely eat this it was sooo salty! The base (tomato sauce and water)-- definitely not the greatest taste.

Perfect Baked Potato

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
Yummy! Don't overdo it on the salt though! This oven baked version doesn't compare to the microwave at all. The skin on these potatoes are really good so make sure that you clean them extra well!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
This is yummy, easy, recipe! I used jumbo biscuits that soaked up every ounce of liquid so next time I will use regular biscuits, or more liquid. I also seasoned the chicken with paprika, salt, pepper, celery salt, sage, and savory seasoning. The flavor was very good. A little salty, so I will add less next time. Overall a really good recipe!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
Followed all of the measurements because I wanted to taste how it was intended to taste. Really didn't care for it. I hated the dill flavor in a soup! If it wasn't for the mushrooms I would've thrown it all away.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
This recipe was just ok tasting to me. Nothing really great about it. I did think the recommendation to add some instant potatoes to the recipe was a good idea to thicken it up. Probably won't make it again.
