Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
Didn't add the raisins--don't like them, but other than that the recipe is a great potluck item and I have used it for years! Yum! It's even good with a 1/2 broccoli and 1/2 cauliflower!

Really good!! Followed others advice and used a ziploc to manage the filling. Takes some extra time, but it tastes wonderful!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
It lacked in flavor, maybe because of the rice mix I selected. The creaminess was delightful!

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
It was really good but lacking in flavor. I think next time I'll add more garlic and soy sauce, maybe a little bit of red pepper flakes. Overall it is a great start and definitely a keeper.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
i didn't love it, but everyone that i made this for rated it a 5. I think fresh spinach would taste better (if you add spinach at all!!) I would also add that noodles at the very end so that they don't soak up all the broth and turn into a stew.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
So yummy and easy to make. Pumpkin puree is just the can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) found in the baking aisle. My husband says he even liked it better than our traditional zucchini bread! It's definitely a keeper!

substitute applesauce for the oil and you have a healthier, just as yummy, recipe!

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2008
This is a really great twist to enchiladas! I'm not a fan of enchilada sauce so this creamy version is ten times better than a red/green sauce. I omitted the green chile's and added olives and mushrooms. Very good!!!

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
This is meant to be a plainer dish and it is fantastic! I add tomatoes and low fat sour cream to mine. My husband likes the cilantro cream cheese recipe from this site with his rice. We also add about 3/4 can of corn, nice for texture. Very good!

Perfect Baked Potato

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
Yummy! Don't overdo it on the salt though! This oven baked version doesn't compare to the microwave at all. The skin on these potatoes are really good so make sure that you clean them extra well!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2007
This is yummy, easy, recipe! I used jumbo biscuits that soaked up every ounce of liquid so next time I will use regular biscuits, or more liquid. I also seasoned the chicken with paprika, salt, pepper, celery salt, sage, and savory seasoning. The flavor was very good. A little salty, so I will add less next time. Overall a really good recipe!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2007
Followed all of the measurements because I wanted to taste how it was intended to taste. Really didn't care for it. I hated the dill flavor in a soup! If it wasn't for the mushrooms I would've thrown it all away.

Really good! Right out of the oven they are quite doughy but I love doughy! After the cool they are so fabulously soft! Yummy!

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2007
Overall I'd probably rate this a 4.5 b/c the sauce needed a better flavor for a 5 rating. However, the meat was very tender and delicious. Like other people, I added the peppers an hour before it was finished and they tasted great. I also doubled the onion and sauce. My mom used to make this recipe on the stove top and the meat was always rough! Thanks for the suggestion of the crock pot!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
Really yummy! Did take a long time to make though. I used a rotisserie chicken (had to pick all the meat off) and boiled 1 1/2 cups carrots with 3 potatoes in the leftover chicken bones (really yummy and easy chicken stock). I tripled the sauce because I added a whole chicken and extra veggies so I thought that I would need more sauce, and it was perfect! I made two pies out of this and brushed egg white on the top! Yummy!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
This recipe was just ok tasting to me. Nothing really great about it. I did think the recommendation to add some instant potatoes to the recipe was a good idea to thicken it up. Probably won't make it again.
