Toddler Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Delicious. Didn't have any baby food, so I used about 1 cup of left-over cooked carrots. I added some chopped pecans, 1 tsp of baking powder and vanilla. The muffins were moist and very flavorful. Will definitely make these again.

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
Great dressing for macaroni, although we did find it a tad too sweet. So, will make that adjustment when made again.

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2010
This frosting is easy to make and very spreadable. It is not too sweet which is how I prefer frosting. I put it on the "magic chocolate" cake from this site. Got raves from everyone in my family.

Chewy Crispy Coconut Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
Liked these a bunch. Only thing that I changed was to toast the coconut as others have suggested.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
I have made this many times. It's delicious and easy to make. I add chopped onions and carrots. If I don't have any celery, that's OK.

Beef Brisket on Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
Of course, the meat was tender; however, I did not care for the flavor. I should have known with that much Worcestershire sauce. I definitely won't make this again. There are much better recipes for beef brisket.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
This is a really good bran muffin recipe; however, I did change it to adjust for my taste in bran muffins. I added 2 mashed, ripe bananas (rather small ones) and substituted real butter for the oil. They came out moist and delicious. I cooked them exactly 15 mins. YUMMY!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
My adjustments were using Trader Joe's Arrabiata sauce and no-boil noodles, fewer sweet Italian sausages (3 large sausages)and more ground beef (2 lbs). Sorry, but I was stressed for time. Was delicious. Later, I tried the true recipe. I found that it had too much sausage flavor for me. The sauce was really good with the fennel seed which I did not have on hand. I made a trip to the store just for that, and I'm glad that I did. . .YUM!

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
I make this every summer with fresh squeezed lemons. It's easy and refreshing. Reminds me of lemonade my friend's grandma used to make for us when we were kids. We picked the lemons from our backyard lemon tree. Sixty years later, I get my bag of lemons from Costco now.

Spinach Dip I

I added 2 tsp of grey poupon mustard and some Montreal steak seasoning. I changed the veg packet to Hidden Valley ranch dressing packet. Took it to work for a potluck with various veggies, and everyone loved it.

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
This is a delicious basic recipe for cabbage rolls. I added garlic & red wine to the meat/rice mixture, & used petite sirloin ground up in my processor. I added some grey poupon mustard to the sauce which I tripled. Cooked covered with foil in oven at 325 for 90 mins., then lowered heat to 300 for 30 mins. with foil removed. I agree with other comments that this would serve up well with mashed potatoes. This is real COMFORT FOOD.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Absolutely yummy cake. I added 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and did not have any raisins. The cake was moist and delicious. This is the best carrot cake my family has ever had. God bless you, Sam.

Chicken Crouton Hot Dish

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
I made this without the broth, and browned the croutons in a skillet with the butter before combining all ingredients. This solved the soggy problem.

Easy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2008
Excellent banana bread; however, I added 1 tsp. of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg and 2 Tbsp. of buttermilk. I baked the bread for 1 hour and 20 mins and covered the loaves after removing from the oven. The bread was moist, not soggy, and had a wonderful flavor. I highly recommend this recipe. Pretty easy, too.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
Yummy and delicious. I sprinkled milk chocolate pieces on top and baked. No need for the frosting when you do this. Time cooked was 28 mins, and I doubled this recipe for a larger dish. I left them in the oven with the door ajar and the temp off for approximately 10 more mins. This set them up just right.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
These are better than the bought cinnabons. The dough is soft and tastes so much fresher. I did not use my bread machine as I just happened to have my big mixer on the counter, so I used it. I used the review to place the dough to rise in the oven that had been heated to 200 and then turned off. The cinnamon and brown sugar were the right amount for my taste. Loved these.
