About this Cook
I am married with 2 kids and I love all things food! Cookbooks, recipes, coupons, Food Network, Top Chef, allrecipes.com, Bon Appetit magazine, Hell's Kitchen... all of it! I am a Pastry Chef working in a bakery that gives me the opportunity to use the skills I learned at Le Cordon Bleu. I am passionate about food and love to cook most anything for my friends and family.
My favorite things to cook
When the weather is cooler, I love to bake anything - mostly desserts. My family loves casseroles, pasta, my Chicken Pot Pie (adapted from an allrecipes.com recipe) and my Chicken Enchilada casserole. Actually, they love most everything and love to try all my experiments too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking cookies with my mom when I was a little girl. Each fall going to Oak Glen, CA or what we referred to as 'apple country' for a day of fun and bringing home lots of apples that my mom turned into apple pies/tarts and applesauce. We still return to Oak Glen each year but now I take my kids.
My cooking triumphs
My Chicken Pot Pie I am most proud of and get rave reviews. Teaching my kids to cook and come up with something they like to eat when its their choice for family night. So far, so good and I think it makes them less picky eaters to try different things.
My cooking tragedies
I'm sure I have had quite a few over all the years I've been cooking but I just get back in the kitchen and keep on baking/cooking until it turns out right the next time. I never give up and to me being in the kitchen is a fun time.

Cream Cheese and Ham Spread
We love this, so easy to make and once it sits overnight or even just a few hours, the flavors come together well. I make it into a 'cheese ball' by chopping up pecans and shape the cheese into a ball then roll in nuts until covered. Great for parties and game day.
