Healthy Green Juice

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
This green juice tastes mostly of celery. After a few sips, I added a cup of grapes to tone down the celery and sweeten a little more. Very good. Thanks for sharing.

Green Lemonade

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2013
Like this green juice quite a bit, however the lemon was a bit sour, and I added a cup of grapes to sweeten it. Next time I will reduce the lemon.

Delicious Broccoli Cranberry Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
My husband & I liked this very well. To cut fat and calories, I substituted Splenda for the sugar, and Miracle Whip for the mayonnaise. Also, I used red wine vinegar. I will make this again soon.

Pumpkin Spice Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2012
Made this for Recipe Group. I only made 1/2 the recipe. And I made a few changes as I usually do. First, I live at high altitude, so I added 1 heaping tablespoon of flour. Also I substituted 3/4C whole wheat flour for white flour. After mixing all the ingredients, the batter was very thick, so I added 1/2 cup of apple cider, since I had some. The thick batter really had to be addressed, so that's why 3 stars. I made muffins, which took 26 minutes to bake. The spice taste is stronger than the pumpkin. A good muffin. I don't know if I will make these again or not, but it was fun to try something new.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IX

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
These are very good cookies, and knowing that they are made with canola oil instead of butter or margarine makes me feel even better about eating them. I had some dried mangos that I needed to use, so I substituted them for the raisins. I prepared the rest of the recipe exactly as written. The recipe doesn't specify, but I used quick oats, and the cookies were perfect. Thank you for sharing your very healthy recipe.

Mom Moak's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2013
I was intrigued by the milk and the idea of a homemade creamy soup. I liked this recipe although I did modify it just a bit to suit our tastes. I had remnants of a rotisserie chicken, so I made my broth with that, and used what chicken was on it. Only used 1 potato b/c Honey doesn't eat them, but my teens do. I didn't have evaporated milk on hand, but I always have dry milk powder, so I added 1/2 C of that instead. Also, my pickies usually pick out carrots so cooked them in chunks making the broth and then buzzed them in the blender and then poured them back into the pan. Sneaky huh? I will probably make this again. Thanks for your recipe.

Pumpkin Oatmeal

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
I make this recipe often. However, I use 1% milk, which increases the protein in this hearty breakfast, and I use 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. It's satisfying, so I don't get hungry until noon.

Easy Rosemary Chicken

This was very easy to make but really just tasted like another ho-hum soup and chicken recipe. Not bad, but I won't make it again.

I like recipes that are easy and good, and this surely is. I added a couple tablespoons of fat free sour cream for creamy pesto sauce, and served with rotini pasta. Thanks MOMof5.

Very good mix. I reduce the salt to half. Basic ingredients that I always have on hand. I just pour what I need from the jar straight into the pan.

Cajun Spice Mix

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2014
Nice blend. I used some in another recipe and put the rest in my spice rack. I only used half the salt, and next time I may omit the salt altogether. Usually salt is already in/on what I'm making. No need to double up. Thank you!

Cranberry Apple Oatmeal

Very good. If you don't have a fresh orange, sub some of the water for orange juice. I cut way WAY back on the nutmeg (just a dash) and the sugar and nuts (too many calories).

Easy, Cheesy Tortellini Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
Easy and good is a winning combination. I left out the spinach - kids. The spices are easy to adjust to whatever you have on hand. And I used much less cheese. Kids and husband all cleaned their plates. I'll add this one to the regular recipe rotation.
