Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 18, 2003
Great recipe. I like my chicken thin- so the secret of pounding the chicken breast is to take a plastic bag-(gallon sized is good )& sprinkle the inside with a little water. Then place the chicken breast inside & close the seal & then you can use a mallet to pound it down with no mess. Works like a charm!

Storybook Gingerbread Men

Excellent recipe. The hardest part was waiting for the dough to chill. Easy to roll out and very tasty! I would make these again.

Candied Garlic Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2000
I like the fact that these wings are baked rather than fried. I doubled the recipe and used 5 lbs of chicken wings and served them as appetizers at a small get together. They went over really well. The recipe itself is really simple to make. The quickness part I had to give it a 4 & that is only because it does take a while to bake these. I would make these again for any party. In fact, I think you could make these ahead of time & then reheat them in the microwave and they would still be great.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2001
Good recipe. I have another recipe that is slightly similar. Make sure you baste this occasionally. I poured off all the extra liquid during the last 10 minutes of baking. Helped make it more carmelized. I would make this again.

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2003
This was awesome!! Very moist, very flavorful. I will definately make it again! Next time I intend to split it in half & add a custard with mini chocolate chips for the filling. I think its perfect without the filling too but I am going to try it a new way next time for my mother's Birthday cake. She is going to love it! Thanks for sharing!

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2000
This is a great recipe. I substituted soymilk for the powdered milk. Great texture, not as dense as some whole wheat flour breads. Makes a great toast or warmed up in the microwave for a few seconds with a touch of butter.

Aunt Wanda's Turkey Carcass Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2001
This is a good recipe. I used about 10 cups of water (I had a 12 lb meaty turkey carcass) which was a lot more than the recipe specified. It's a great basic recipe, I added a little cabbage and freshly cracked black pepper and a little minced garlic. Really tasty. Made enough for me & my best friend for lunch. My thanks to Aunt Wanda!

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2002
This is a true story. I called my best girlfriend who was throwing a get together for superbowl football. We started discussing the menu. I was making my own food as I decided to stay home with my family. My friend started talking about the wings that she was going to make. I told her that it had the same exact ingredients... I found out that we were both making the same recipe. At both homes this recipe was a hit. My friends disappeared instantly. I had left overs & they tast even better leftover. Thanks for sharing this.

Shredded Beef for Tacos

Reviewed: May 25, 2003
I made this exactly as the recipe was written. It was very, very good. I had a fiesta party and all my guest enjoyed this. I don't like really spicy foods..but the canned hot tamatoe sauce really added a nice punch without making it extremely hot. It did have a little kick to it but wasn't overwhelming. Thanks for sharing & I will make this again.
